Triumph THRUXTON description

Reluctantly offering for sale my 'mint - as new' 2016 Triumph Thruxton 1200. I purchased the bike new in April of this year and it has covered just over 1800 miles. The bike is stock mechanically and will be sold with the accessories I have added, which include:
  • Triumph heated hand grips
  • Color matched seat cowl
  • Brushed ACG badge
  • Brushed clutch cover badge
  • Billet master cylinder cover
These accessories total over $500, and of course, all original equipment will be included.

First service has been completed by authorized Triumph dealer, all maintenance records, owner's manuals, documentation, etc, included.

This bike has been meticulously maintained and never been down, never even rain ridden, always garaged inside and kept on a battery tender when not in use. "Senior citizen' owned - 68 year old enthusiast with two bikes and needs to pare down to one.

Bargain priced for hopefully quick sale (before I change my mind!) reserve at over $2000 below price of a new one. Can't go wrong here if a Thruxton is what you are looking for. And, this one is the 'best' color of all the Triumph line - beautiful Triumph Competition Green!

Good luck bidding and thanks for looking!

Buyer responsible for all shipping/delivery arrangements and associated costs. Initial deposit of $500 due through PayPal within 48 hours of auction close, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by buyer/seller.

Balance of final selling price by certified bank check, money order, etc. and transaction not considered complete until funds are certified as 'deposited' by my bank.

NO PayPal for final payment unless buyer is willing to pay the PayPal fee.  By bidding on this item, you are agreeing to these terms - thanks for understanding.

Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.

Riding in groups

Mon, 19 Apr 2010

Saturday morning was a stonker wasn’t it? A group of us ranging from neighbours, brothers, mates and girlfriends got up and headed down to the coast for a spot of bacon and eggs. We had a real diverse selection or bikes actually with a GSX1400, XJR1300, Triumph Speedmaster, MT01, A Yamaha R1 and my Triumph Speed Triple.

Buddy Holly, Ariel Cyclone, 1958

Above is some fantastic home movie footage of Buddy Holly and the Crickets messing around on motorbikes in 1958. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.
