Triumph T100 description

This is a Tiger 100 (1966 model year) with the Johnson Motors modifications to frame and swinging arm. It has the factory race shop 5 gallon manx gas tank, fibreglass fairing, seat and the works oil tank.
The bike was raced hard and at some point the original engine blown up. The bike was originally in the factory race colors of Oxford blue and white.
The frame # is SR H42524 which left the Triumph factory on the 5th November 1965 destined for Triumph Corporation USA. The original engine # was H 42525 I have a certificate of dating from the VMCC to go with the bike.  The current crankcase is marked T100C H 38428 and left the factory in March 1965.
The bike underwent restoration (not complete and not by me) in the early 1980's when a complete new color scheme was used and the original Triumph forks changed out for a Ceriani set. A photo of the bike prior to restoration is attached.
The original Smith's tachometer is in the faring but the drive gearbox and cable are missing. There is a corvair oil cooler and replacement manifold. Parts for the original energy transfer ignition system are with the bike but the original Lucas racing points set are missing. The original sls front brake and a tls unit are with the bike.
The bike has been sitting unused for 26 years and a complete rebuild will be required, including rebushing the swinging arm spindle.
I had previously advertised the bike but then decided to rebuild it back to original factory spec.  Having now decided that I am not likely to get around to finishing it it is time to pass it on. The opening bid price is the reserve price
The bike is currently partly dismantled (not a basket case).
It will be the buyers responsibility to collect the bike and arrange shipment and I will do what I can to help.
I would ask for $500 deposit within 3 days of the closing bid and full payment within 10 days or at time of collecting the bike (if sooner).

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions

Please understand that this is a pure blooded factory race bike and is not street legal.  It will be sold with a Bill of Sale only

A weekend of Lawn mower racing, Big Ed, Muc Off and Carlsberg

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

Around this time every summer the BMF hold the Garden Of England Motorcycle Show otherwise known as GEMS. The show happens to be round the corner from me so event sponsors MCE Insurance kindly sent me some passes so I could have a look around. Apart from the usual trade stands and crazy arena antics one of the highlights was the national lawn mower racing championship.

Triumph Rocket 3: Hope you like black

Tue, 29 Sep 2009

COLOURED PAINT must be thin on the ground at Triumph: the company's latest incarnation of their gargantuan Rocket 3 will only available in black when it's released early next year. And there's more torque, too: 165ft-lbs to be precise - up 15 per cent on last year. Triumph also say the new bike will offer "A completely different riding experience from its predecessor." Bold statement.

Triumph Reveals Thruxton Ace Café Special Edition for US Market – Video

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

This past weekend at the Barber Vintage Festival, Triumph took the wraps off a special edition Thruxton that was created with the famed Ace Café London. Harkening back to one of the lynchpins of the British café racer movement of the 1960s, the Thruxton Ace Café Special Edition molds the profile of the classic Triumph racer of the era to the thoroughly modern Thruxton.
