1999 Triumph Legend TT

Description
This 1999 Triumph Legend TT is in excellent condition. The bike has only 4024 miles on it and the tires are in outstanding shape. The bike was purchased new in Ohio in 1999. The bike was involved in a garage fire in 2001 with only 1,046 miles on the odometer. Due to cosmetic damage, paint, seat, handlebar wiring and switch boxes, the instance company totaled the bike. It was sold to Cycle Therapy Inc on an Ohio salvage title. Damage was relatively minor. The bike was purchased in 2002 by Kenneth Lannoo of Detroit and disassembled in storage until July 2012. The bike was then purchased by the current owner and restored by owner and Mr. Lannoo of the Cycle Garage in Detroit with 1,046 miles on the odometer. No damage was done to the engine or drive train. Paint, tires, some wiring, Corbin seat, tail light, and turn signals were replaced or refurbished. Coolant and hydraulic fluids were changed. The air box is modified with K&N air filter and the carbs were rejected to accommodate the air box mods and reverse cone megaphone exhaust. The bike is in flawless running condition with just over 4000 adult ridden miles. Painted Hot Rod black with pro pin striping  by Martinko of Shelby Twp. The bike has always been winter stored in the current owners home. The current owner is selling due to health issues. The "Re Made In Detroit" on the side covers are tape graphics that can be easily removed. The bike sounds great (can hear it running in the video) and just needs a new rider. Bike is being sold on consignment and owner has provided information and all records. A & J Performance Cycle is not responsible for any mis information.

Recall for 2011-2012 Triumph Sprint GT, Tiger 800, Tiger 800XC Optional Top Box

Thu, 11 Aug 2011

Triumph issued a recall for optional accessory top boxes for the 2011-2012 Sprint GT sport tourer and the Tiger 800 and 800XC dual sports. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the top box locking handle is missing a clip lip to ensure a  proper lock on the rear rack. Without this clip, the locking mechanism may not be secure, potentially leading to the top box falling off of the motorcycle.

A short film about Zen

Thu, 28 Apr 2011

This beautifully shot short film alludes to a phrase by Robert M Pirsig, the author of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance: "If the machine produces tranquility it's right. If it disturbs you it's wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed".  But is any Triumph single ever capable of producing a sensation of tranquility, even when it is 'right'? I suspect not...
