Triumph Daytona description

This is a restoration project '67 Triumph Daytona 'Super Sports'.

It has matching engine and frame numbers H51447 and a clear MI title in my name.

This is a twin-carb 500cc model (baby Bonneville) - rated 41hp @ 7,200 rpm (little hot rod of its day !).

Motor turns over although it has not run in a long time I think.

Original colors were Pacific Blue over White - high pipes have been added at some point - it was definitely a 'road' model.

Restoration of sheetmetal parts started ('brown' parts you see have been properly cleaned and primered to prevent re-rusting).

There is a small cylinder head fin piece missing and chaincase has had typical chain break but been welded nicely (see photos).

Missing speedo, left footrest, chainguard, headlamp and other miscellaneous parts.

Only selling as I now have too many projects - will also be listing a 68 TR6R basket case in coming weeks.

Reserve the right to end auction early (if no bids) as item is also for sale locally.

Pickup from Brighton MI - buyer has complete responsibility to arange shipment.

Possible delivery to Battle of the Brits MI by arrangment.

Email with any questions.

Major Updates Coming for 2015 Triumph Tiger 800

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

Triumph is set to reveal some new updates to its Tiger 800 including a number of different versions making it either more highway or more off-road oriented. The both the Tiger 800XC and the less adventure-worthy Tiger 800 will see two new variants, with the Tiger 800 likely being rebranded as the Tiger 800XR. A newly-published executive order from the California Air Resources Board reveals the names for four new Tiger 800 variants known as the XCA (likely standing for XC Adventure), XCX, XRT (or XR Touring) and XRX.
