Triumph Bonneville description

NO RESERVE  -  Beautiful 1967 Bonneville. Matching numbers - T120RDU49921. Clear title.

Completely restored. Newly rebuilt engine has new pistons, rings, valves, guides, main bearings, rod bearings, gaskets, etc. New Buchanan SS spokes, new tires - K70s, front fender, bars, levers, controls, clutch, primary chain, rear chain and sprockets, seat cover, mufflers, shocks, wheel bearings, gaiters, tach cable, headlight assembly, battery. Rebuilt original gauges - speedometer shows mileage prior to restoration. Original color aubergine repaint on tank and new black on frame and other parts. Much new and replated hardware, trim and nuts and bolts.

It is currently set up with new PKW (Keihin) carbs, Boyer-Brandsen ignition, 6 volt coils in series and a Tympanium rectifier. This makes it a smooth and practical rider with easy starting, a good low idle and reliable electrics. I am including the pair of concentrics with thread-on air cleaners that came with it. The throttle cables interchange on either set of carbs (no mod required). Also included are the original points, zener diode and 12 volt coils. I did not restore this bike but bought it as is and added the upgrades. There are also considerable documents (receipts, etc) verifying the restoration work.

Please feel free to ask questions if you are interested.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. Must be paid for in full within 7 days and BEFORE shipment. I possibly could help with delivery within a reasonable range and for expenses.

Mac Motorcycles

Thu, 28 May 2009

British motorcycle design studio Xenophya Design and product designer Ellis Pitt have teamed up to produce a new company, Mac Motorcycles. Based out of Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, England, Mac Motorcycles will produce a line of bikes powered by Buell’s air-cooled single cylinder 492cc engines used in the Blast, with a tubular backbone frame. On the company’s website, Pitt describes its bikes as being simple to maintain, include references and details from choppers and bobbers and feature “Harley posture, flat-track manners, Ducati handling”.

Speed Triple gets new boots

Tue, 18 May 2010

Since the spark plug incident last month resulting in the premature demise of the factory fitted Metzlers, I’ve had to find some new rubber for the Speed Triple. With the Triumph’s punchy engine Commuting 1800 miles a month on motorways and city roads, I need something that will cover decent miles but also be up for some frequent country lane antics. With the BT023’s Bridgestone claim longer life with solid wet weather performance for touring riders whilst satisfying the demands of the keen sport bike riders.

A short film about Zen

Thu, 28 Apr 2011

This beautifully shot short film alludes to a phrase by Robert M Pirsig, the author of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance: "If the machine produces tranquility it's right. If it disturbs you it's wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed".  But is any Triumph single ever capable of producing a sensation of tranquility, even when it is 'right'? I suspect not...
