In 2003, Suzuki released the V-Strom 650 targeting a wider range of users. This versatile model covers not only daily use such as commuting, but also weekend touring as well. With the addition of an ABS-equipped model in 2006, the V-Strom 650 has always been the best-selling model in its class. To further improve its running performance and riding comfort, Suzuki decided to develop a new model.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer took the lead early in the race after passing holeshot-taker Davi Millsaps on the opening lap. Villopoto would lead the rest of the way for his eighth win of the season.

At least, one would think that if one were unfamiliar with the political back-and-forths going on between the major manufacturers and MotoGP promoter Dorna. But with the season-opening Qatar round about to begin, the Grand Prix Commission approved new rules establishing a compromise between the new Factory and Open options.

2015 Suzuki RM-Z250 and RM85

Along with the launch of the new RM-Z450, Suzuki announced the return of the RM-Z250 and RM85 for 2015. Both smaller motocrossers return unchanged, though the slightly larger RM85L variant was not announced for the new model year. The 2015 Suzuki RM-Z250 retains the same 249cc liquid-cooled Single as the 2014 model including the swappable EFI couplers for selecting richer or leaner fueling.
