2007 Suzuki GSX-R 600, It started at racetracks far from Suzuki's Hamamatsu, Japan headquarters. A group of dedicated Suzuki engineers on an overseas fact-finding mission wandered through paddocks and spectator parking lots, looking at motorcycles and watching races.The racers at these events didn't have factory contracts, and were not paid to race. They came because they loved the competition, the sport, and they rode motorcycles they bought themselves.The race classes were defined by engine size, rider skill level and allowable modifications. The grids for 1,000 cc machines were packed with GSX-R1000s. The grids for 750 cc machines featured row after row of GSX-R750s. But the 600 cc grids were no longer completely filled with GSX-R600s. After years of trying, the middleweight competition had finally caught up, again.The engineers worked stopwatches, talked to riders and mechanics, filled notebooks with observations and comments. NHTSA Launches Recall Look-up by VIN Tool
Fri, 22 Aug 2014The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have launched a new free online tool that should make it easier for consumers to inspect their vehicles’ safety recall histories. The new search tool, available at http://www.safercar.gov/vinlookup, allows people to look for recall campaigns by entering Vehicle Identification Numbers.
First Laps of the 2015 Suzuki MotoGP Racer
Tue, 18 Jun 2013Suzuki put its new prototype race bike through its first test laps alongside other MotoGP racers in preparation for its impending return to racing in the 2015 season. Test rider Nobuatsu Aoki, who had been playing a key role in the racebike’s development, took the new Suzuki 1000cc Inline-Four prototype out for a few shakedown laps before handing things over to Randy de Puniet who completed the bulk of the testing at Spain’s Catalunya circuit. After a day of testing, de Puniet put up the eighth-best lap time, clocking in at 1:42.676, just 0.772 seconds behind Yamaha‘s Jorge Lorenzo who had the top lap time among all participants. It’s important to note however that Repsol Honda and series leader Dani Pedrosa did not participate in this test.
Motorcyclist’s Neck Cut after Hitting Kite Wire Strung Across Road
Mon, 29 Aug 201127-year-old Humayun Kobir is recovering in a Toronto hospital after receiving a serious laceration to his neck after riding into a line of wire strung across an intersection. According to local reports, Kobir felt a sharp pain in his neck after riding through an intersection on his Suzuki GSX-R on Aug. 27, his 27th birthday.
