The last true superbike, the GSXR 1000 K6 - look it up, the next year around 14 lbs of weight was added due to new emissions regs, this is the last of the truly feather weights but with tons of power! Bike is stock with only exceptions being a TRE mod and K&N air filter. Just changed oil/filter about 3 months ago (full synthetic amsoil/k&n filter), bike always garaged or inside my house. Only one minor flaw, about a 1" crack on right side fairing (not dropped, something bumped it). Own the last true Superbike and it's ready to make mods of your own to bring even more out of it! 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 – Gixxer Thou Updated with a Focus on Weight Savings
Mon, 24 Oct 2011Suzuki has updated its GSX-R1000 sportbike for 2012 with Brembo monobloc calipers and a new single-pipe exhaust system. Last updated in 2009, the 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 also receives a number of updates to the the engine to the wiring harness to even the front tire to to reduce overall weight by 4.4 pounds. The new GSX-R has a claimed curb weight of 447.5 pounds.
AMA Pro SuperBike Heads To Road America For Round 2 Of AMA Pro Road Racing
Fri, 30 May 2014The 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing season resumes this weekend with the Subway SuperBike Doubleheader at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis., and all eyes will be on 21-year-old AMA Pro SuperBike rookie Cameron Beaubier on the No. 2 Monster Energy Graves Yamaha YZF-R1. Beaubier may be the new kid on the block, but he entered the season opener at Daytona International Speedway with high expectations.

Tue, 29 Mar 2011I’ve just got back from Donington Park and the second round of the World Superbike championship. The racing was exciting, going off without a hitch, and the weather was unseasonably kind, but the meeting will be remembered by those in the fairly close knit WSB paddock for reasons other than the temperature or the race results. It’ll be remembered by most, especially those who witnessed it, as the meeting where Max Biaggi finally lost his already feeble grip on reality.
