Suzuki Building Second Factory in India

Suzuki announced it will construct a new production facility in Gurgaon, India. The new facility, slated to open 2014, will produce models specifically for India, whose two-wheeled market scooped 13 million units in 2011 and likely more this year. Suzuki already has a facility in Gurgaon which opened in 2006, producing the Access and Swish scooters as well as the Sling Shot Plus and the GS150R (pictured above) motorcycles.

Electric Moto Corporation

After launching their website last week, the California based Electric Moto Corporation has now announced the IPG Group as their agency of record to help increase brand awareness and bring in some investor interest.  According to their website, other then the EMAX 72 DS electric motorcycle, there is a scooter, ATV, bicycle and a personal watercraft on the drawing board. Hopkins Breaks Hand in Testing Crash – Yes, THAT Hand

Crescent Fixi Suzuki racer John Hopkins has broken a bone in his right hand during the first day of testing at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. The injury was to the same hand Hopkins injured last season that eventually led to the amputation of the tip of his ring finger. Hopkins high-sided entering a corner riding a 2011-spec Suzuki GSX-R1000 (the 2012 superbike was not yet ready).
