Suzuki GS tech info
Suzuki GS description
A GS500 I've turned into a cafe racer. The suspension has been
stiffened a bit, motor bore out, carb tuned to it, and has a performance
exhaust installed. It's going to need a new chain and tires soon but it
is in great running order. The plastic control boxes on the handle bars have been replaced with boxes made of brass and copper. I originally made the front fender have beer bottle caps glazed on it but later I built a "dragon skin" leather cover for it. The seat is also covered in the same skin.
The bike was dropped onto its right side (about 10 mph) , I had it checked out by a mechanic and the only damage was some scratches on the end bar mirrors and headlight.. Starts every day, I've always kept it garaged but it doesn't have a heater and the bike has started in the winter when it was 20 degrees out. Great beginner bike although it does everything else just fine too. I get a lot of compliments wherever I go from people on it. If you have any questions just let me know. |

Suzuki Confirms MotoGP Departure – Hope of 2014 Return
Fri, 18 Nov 2011As expected, Suzuki has officially announced its withdrawal from MotoGP racing, though the Japanese manufacturer says it plans to return to the world championship in 2014. Suzuki cites the recession, the value of the Japanese Yen and a series of natural disasters as reasons for suspending its MotoGP program for at least two years. Reports of Suzuki’s withdrawal began circulating earlier this week with some staff members reportedly receiving notice late last week, but signs of Suzuki’s impending withdrawal have been around for over a year.
Japan Needs Your Help
Thu, 17 Mar 2011By now, we’ve all seen pictures and video of the devastation in Japan following the March 11 earthquake and the ensuing tsunamis. Japan, of course, has contributed much to motorcycling, with the Big Four of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, as well as tire manufacturer Bridgestone, helmet companies Arai and Shoei and many other motorcycle industry stalwarts all coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. Jon Bekefy and Greg Hatton, two motorcycle enthusiasts, industry employees and above all, humanitarians, have set up a fundraising campaign benefiting the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
2012 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS Intro
Fri, 04 Nov 2011Suzuki invited a select group of moto-jounalists to the Blue Ridge Mountains this week to sample the 2012 V-Stom 650 ABS. The mildly reworked mid-size adventure-tourer proved itself to be an upgraded version of the popular original model. During the two-day test we rode paved two-lane byways and a few dirt road segments.
