Suzuki Introduces Extremely Rare 2014 GSX-R1000 SE Limited Production

In honor of Suzuki’s 50th Anniversary in America, the company has introduced the exclusive, limited-production Suzuki GSX-R1000 SE – with a total of just 50 numbered motorcycles to be sold through Suzuki dealers in America, and only 100 produced worldwide. No internal modifications have been made to the GSX-R1000, but the visual changes are quite obvious. Capirossi Announces Retirement at Conclusion of 2011 Season

Loris Capirossi announced he will retire at the end of the 2011 MotoGP season, closing off a quarter century of racing including 22 years at the Grand Prix level and three World Championships. “It’s an important moment in my career, and the decision I made has come about after a lot of reflection,” says Capriossi. “I’m happy that after 25 years, of which 22 were in the world championship, I’m at a point where I can still have a smile on my lips as I part ways, even if it’s difficult to think that I won’t be riding a bike next year.” The announcement was made during a press conference at Misano for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, the final Italian stop of the 2011 season.

John Hopkins Ready for Comeback

When last we heard from California racer John Hopkins, the former MotoGP racer announced he would return to British Superbike racing after being out of action for nearly two years due to various injuries. With the 2014 BSB season starting in April, Hopkins spoke with Suzuki’s official racing website to provide an update on his impending return with the Tyco Suzuki team. Hopkins says he has been practicing on a motocross track and is close to a deal with the Yoshimura Suzuki AMA team to test on a Gixxer.
