1972 Other Makes Rickman on 2040-motos

First off, there is NO title to this dirt bike.  Virginia does NOT title dirt bikes.  Up for auction is a true Barn Find Vintage 1972 RICKMAN / MONTESSA 250cc Motocross dirt bike.   This bike was parked in our machine shed back in the 1980's and is just now being brought out to the light of day to be sold to someone who will appreciate it.    It has been hiding behind the combine for too long now.  It deserves to be ridden once again.   It does not currently run but the engine will turn over.   We sprayed PB Blaster in the cylinder and turned it over by the flywheel.   It hasn't been running in 30 year so i would recommend a rebuild on the engine and carburetor.   The original tires did pump up and are still holding air.    From the story told to me years ago, the BM on the sidepanels stands for BAD MOTHERZXZXZX, because this 250 was apparently a tough one to beat at White Oak racetrack in Eastern VA.    The exhaust pipe is an aftermarket stinger pipe which is very hard to find for a 250.    Bike is located in Central Virginia and can be previewed before the auction ends if anyone wants to do so.   Selling it in as is nonrunning condition and with NO RESERVE!    High bidder gets and awesome vintage motocrosser.
