Norton Interstate description

I am relisting this bike in response to the many bidders who contacted me following "no sale" at the established reserve price.  The original ad, updated, follows below:

Selling my beloved Norton - age and arthritis dictate that it is time to give her up.  A "daily rider" - not showroom or museum quality, but a nice, good-looking bike you can happily ride.  It  -IS- a Norton, and it -IS- 40+ years old.  There is a nice patina of age on the mechanicals.  The paint is mostly good, with a couple of minor scuffs on the tank - see photos.  The tank and side panels are the original fiberglas, with appropriate age and stress markings.  The tank has been sealed at some point in the past.  I have used nothing but non-ethanol gasoline since I purchased the bike about ten years ago. The frame has paint nicks from 40 years of use, but no rust - see photos.  Features (and 'year' or 'mileage', if known):  Single Mikuni Conversion -2011; Boyer-Brandsen Ignition; New F&R Dunlop tires  - at ~23000 miles-  About 900 miles on tires; New mufflers -2011; new handbuilt rearsets  - 2011; European Bars; Custom "step" seat; dual LOUD horns, mounted where they can be heard; both center- and side-stands.  The speedometer was replaced with a new unit in 2010; the mileage at the time was 23601.  Since then, I have only ridden about 347 miles - a few miles more than shown in the photo.  So the actual mileage as best I know it is 23948 as of this writing.  This is a USED and VINTAGE motorcycle, sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no other warranty, express or implied.  It -IS- a Norton, and will mark its territory with a few drops of oil immediately after a ride.  Otherwise, it is reasonably "oil-tight."  Study the photographs carefully and bid appropriately.  Pickup and shipping are the responsibility of buyer.  I can deliver to Buyer or transport agent within 25 miles of Idaho Falls, ID, zip code 83401.  Paypal only.  $500 non-refundable Paypal deposit within 48 hours of winning bid.  Balance due within seven calendar days of winning bid via Paypal or Cash-In-Hand to Seller.  Motorcycle, title, and keys will be released to Buyer or buyer's agent upon complete deposit of purchase price in Seller's bank.

Norton has announced a stylish scrambler

Sun, 08 Jul 2018

The boss of the British brand, Stuart Garner, published images of a promising model on his Twitter. Norton's Atlas and P11 scramblers from the sixties will have an heir! The 650 Atlas Scrambler, based on the same models from the past, still exists in virtual reality and is content only with the status of a concept.

Price William The Duke Of Ducs And Other Motorcycles

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

Moto Electra Equips Electric Norton Race Bike with iPad Console

Fri, 14 Sep 2012

Moto Electra has found a new, innovative way to combine old and new technologies in its electric race bike. The Virginia-based Moto Electra has been an active participant in electric motorcycle racing for the last few years, competing against much larger, better funded teams with a race bike using an electric motor and 1950s Norton Featherbed frame. That melding of old and new has produced surprising results, including podium finishes in the TTXGP and victory in a race featuring both electric and gas-powered motorcycles.
