Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) MV Agusta to Introduce All-New Model at EICMA 2012

While it isn’t that surprising an Italian manufacturer will have something to show off in Milan, the big news is the new model will not be a sportbike or a naked but a new motorcycle segment for MV Agusta. Rumors of a new MV Agusta have been circulating for a while, gathering momentum when the company recently trademarked the name “Rivale”.
Did Metallica Ask MV Agusta to Remove “Enter Sandman” from Dragster Teaser Video?
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Earlier this week, MV Agusta released a video teasing its upcoming Dragster 800 model that prominently featured the familiar introduction to Metallica‘s 1991 hit “Enter Sandman“. That original video is no longer available on YouTube, replaced by a new version with a more generic heavy metal soundtrack. It looks like MV Agusta did not secure the license to use “Enter Sandman” in the video, forcing the company to replace the original video with new, and likely license-free, music.
