This is the largest displacement engine ever built by MV Agusta and delivers a maximum power of 106 kW (144 hp) at 10.300 rpm. The 1078 cc unit is combined with an Electronic Engine Control Unit which has been programmed with a mapping and offers 8 levels of traction control that can be selected by the rider. To offer a proper grip regardless of the road conditions, the Brutale R 1090 is equipped with front 120/70 - ZR 17 and rear 190/55 - ZR 17 tires. MV Agusta To Manufacture Racing Parts With Help From Yakhnich Motorsport

MV Agusta released a rather odd statement today. In it was the announcement that MV Agusta and Yakhnich Motorsport had joined forces to enter the World Superbike and World Supersport championships. Considering the season has already started with the Phillip Island round in Australia, one in which team Supersport rider Jules Cluzel won aboard his F3 675 after two of the leaders crashed out, this “news” doesn’t is a little late.

One-Off Ferrari Tribute Motorcycle Sold for $137,700

A one-off officially-endorsed Ferrari motorcycle has been sold at auction, taking in 85,000 British pounds (US$137,700). That’s a hefty sum for a motorcycle, but far less from the initial reserve price of 180,000 pounds asked for when the bike was first up for auction in 2008. The Ferrari motorcycle was designed and built by former MV Agusta engineer David Kay in 1995 as a tribute to the Italian car-maker’s founder, Enzo Ferrari.

MV Agusta is adding another variant to its four-cylinder 1078cc Brutale lineup. Alongside the Brutale 1090, 1090 R and 1090 RR, MV Agusta will offer the new limited edition Brutale Corsa (and no, we’re pretty sure they didn’t at any point consider calling it the 1090 RRR. We’re pretty sure.) The Brutale Corsa shares the same 1078cc 16-valve four-cylinder engine as the 1090 models.
