2009 KYMCO people S 200, The 2009 Kymco People S 200 engine has an air cooler to cool down the unit and thus prevent malfunction due to overheating.  The electric starter and Keihin carburator enable the bike to start quickly, and is essential for cold weather.  A muffler with exhaust catalyst technology is on this model for reduced air pollution.  The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission, or CVT.  What sets the CVT apart from other transmissions is the distinct ability to shift through an unlimited number of effective gear ratios, making the engine run more efficiently and providing improved fuel economy (75mpg).

ZEV has announced big changes to the 10 LRC scooter, as well as updates to the 6000 L and T-10 scooters as well. Starting with the $13,990 10 LRC, it features a 10kWh battery pack.

Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine

The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.

Kymco USA President and Chief Executive Officer Eric Bondy has resigned, stepping down from a position he has held for seven years. Bondy is leaving Kymco to explore a new, but unspecified, opportunity, but will remain with the company until Dec. 15 to help ensure a smooth transition.
