Mackenzie Tricker Looks To Pad WMX Points Lead At Glen Helen Raceway Sunday
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Having won the opening two rounds of the 2014 Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) – at the AMA sanctioned Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, and at the James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship in Wortham, Texas, Australia’s Mackenzie Tricker comes into this weekend’s race at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, with momentum on her side and a 17-point lead in the series standings. Round three of the Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) will run in conjunction with the FMF California Classic, which runs from April 9 through April 13, with both WMX motos taking place on Sunday. So far, Tricker has won three of the four motos held to date, and the Yamaha-backed rider is hoping to pad her lead in the series standings with a good finish this weekend.
Lee Rocker To Play Free Concert At AIMExpo
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Lee Rocker, of 1980′s Stray Cats fame, and still considered one of the most influential upright bass players in rock n’ roll history, will perform a free concert at the AIMExpo Saturday Night, October 18 outside of the AIMExpo show floor at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Rocker and the band take the stage at 7 p.m. to deliver a rockabilly performance. All AIMExpo attendees with either an admission ticket or a show badge are welcome to attend the intimate performance. WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report
Mon, 21 Oct 2013Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.
