Kawasaki Vulcan description

I purchased this bike from a friend about 5 years ago. He had dropped it and damaged the handlebars, tank, fenders, and some miscellaneous chrome. He involved the insurance company, and they issued a rebuild-able title, and he kept riding. I bought it and since it needed some cosmetics, my wife wanted a "tribute" bike dedicated to her father, brother, and all that served.
I started with the front fender, a 1948 Chief, 3 pc fender that I welded together and modified it to fit this bike. Next I bought the saddlebags, exact repros of WWII WLA bags. I made custom brackets mounting them to the frame of the bike. The rear fender is off of a 2000 Kawasaki Drifter 800. The tank is a stock 800 Vulcan tank, windshield is from JP Cycles, tool box is vintage Harley FL, Headlight and turn signal lamps are JP Cycles as well. The front portion of the exhaust is original, I added some fishtail pipes, 2" baffles, and heat wrapped them. There is a grenade shifter I made for the horn also. The rear fender has a repro rack where a WWII steel helmet is resting. Up front, I put a vintage Harley leather tool bag, and a WWII entrenching shovel with cover. I also mounted the horn on top of the headlamp. I eliminated one of the fog lamps, fabricated a turn signal bar, mounted the turn signals, and the fog lamp on the bar.  The seat is a repro WLA "tractor" style seat fitted with springs and a custom crossbar to mount them. The color is late WWII OD Green in "Base/Clear" with a semi-gloss clearcoat. The semi gloss black is a single stage urethane. The wheels were pained OD green as well with the addition of Pirelli tires. Front brakes are new, rears were good. I also added a new chain.
The bike runs great. I rode it on the Memorial Day run in Ocala 3 years ago. The local newspaper took pics and ran it in the GO section. I have put roughly 500 miles on it since the makeover. It is mad fun to ride, you will be stopped everywhere you go. It really fools 99% of people that look at it. Gas mileage is great too, I have been running non-Ethanol 90 Octane in it. The bike starts and runs each and every time, never had a problem. It is intentionally made to look worn, saddlebags were "weathered" as well as the entire bike. Please check out the pictures.
The horn is currently not hooked up. I have a grenade shifter with a micro-switch I was going to use for the horn. That is 80% done. Please ask as many questions as you like. I can be reached at 352-572-0064. This bike was professionally done where I work, a body shop.

A $500.00 deposit is due at the close of the auction, balance due within 10 days with pickup of bike. Bike is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells. Bike is being sold "As Is"  Thanks for looking!!
