Kawasaki Other description

2000 Kawasaki ZRX1100 - Kawasaki introduced this motorcycle to commemorate the bike that Eddie Lawson rode to dominate AMA Superbike racing back in the 1980's, with its lime green paint, blue and white stripes, turned up tail section and piggyback shocks. These production versions were re-tuned and fitted with different cams to build power at lower rpm for life on the street. This one has even been fitted with the aftermarket Kerker pipe that is lighter than the stock unit and sounds amazing. Bike runs and rides perfectly. The ZRX1100 engine is based on the legendary ZX-11 powerhouse and is happy to cruise around town but will truly stretch your arms when you open it up. Seating position is nearly perfect - more comfortable than a pure sportbike but forward enough for good body position on twisty roads. This one has a nearly new Corbin seat that allows for all day riding. The Continental Conti-Motion tires are in good shape. O-ring chain and sprockets have about 1000 miles on them. Renthal handlebars are the same bend as original but stronger. Only flaw is small paint scrape in faring as shown. In 45 years of riding a motorcycle, this one gets more attention at the local motorcycle hangouts than any other I have owned!

Teaser: 2012 Japanese Literbike Shootout – Video

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

ZX-10R inspired by JPS Lotus?

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

Spotted on Kawasaki's Facebook page, this 'Limited Edition' ZX-10R has been created by none other than double-F1 World Champ Emerson Fittipaldi, who is - amongst other things - a Kawasaki dealer in Brazil and who also happened to win his first World Championship in 1972 in a JPS Lotus that had a very similar colour scheme. Fittipaldi started his motorsport career on a motorcycle, aged just 14, before heading to hydrofoils (surely no-one else at world level has ever raced these?!) and then the more traditional route of karting. Question is: what do you think to the paintjob?

Hayes Wins 2012 AMA Superbike Championship with Record 14th Win

Tue, 25 Sep 2012

Monster Energy Graves Yamaha‘s Josh Hayes has clinched his third consecutive AMA Superbike title with his record 14th win of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The win in the second race of the Miami round was the 31st of Hayes’ career. It followed a rare misstep in Race One which saw Hayes crashing after clipping a curb on the third lap.
