Kawasaki Other description

Selling this as a project bike that needs very little to get on the road again.  I bought this bike about two years ago.  Just have too many projects in my garage and not enough time.

These are the items that need attention:

Needs a new battery, a starter clutch (a replacement starter clutch and gaskets included in this auction), a clamp for one of the exhaust heat-shields, fork seals (replacement seals and fork oil included) and a Kawasaki emblem for the generator cover.

Here’s the good stuff:

Only 6315 miles showing on the odometer.  The paperwork I received with the bike indicated the mileage was correct, although I don’t believe this was garage-kept throughout all the years.  I would rate this bike at fair condition, just under good, but all the parts are there.  All electrical items work as they should.  The hard-to-find factory engine guards (not shown) are included.  The tires are in nearly new condition.  The bike was repainted at some point with the correct decals added.  The clutch is a brand new Barnett, with new cable.  Engine compression is at 105 psi in #1 cylinder and 125 in 2, 3, and 4.  Windshield included (not shown).  Factory manual and any other parts I may have for the bike are included.

As I stated up front, I’m selling this as a project bike.  It is currently not running but could be on the road with a battery and starter clutch.

I have a current, clear title in my name.

Buyer is responsible for shipping.  For a fee, I may be able to deliver to a state between Minnesota and Mississippi as I’m travelling south next month.  Please contact me before bidding if you’d like me to deliver.  Otherwise, the buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements.  I can help load.

Feel free to contact me with questions.

Thanks!

WSBK: 2012 Moscow Results

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.

Kawasaki Announces EVO Entry for World Superbike Championship

Kawasaki announced it will enter a factory-backed EVO-category entry for the 2014 World Superbike Championship. Kawasaki has signed David Salom to ride the EVO Ninja ZX-10R. The team will be run by the same operation behind the non-EVO factory team of Loris Baz and reigning WSBK Champion Tom Sykes, forming a three-rider Kawasaki factory lineup.

FIM Releases New WSBK Rules – Updates Include Pitstops, Weight Limits and Headlight Decals

Wed, 17 Oct 2012

The International Motorcycling Federation and the Superbike Racing Commission released a number of amendments to the 2013 World Superbike Championship rulebook including pitstops, fake headlights and a revised starting grid alignment. We’ve already seen the fake headlights with Kawasaki getting a jump on the new regulation earlier this season with headlight decals on Tom Sykes‘ and Loris Baz‘s ZX-10R. Starting in 2013, all superbikes will have fake headlights to resemble their homologated production models.
