Kawasaki Other description

Here is a beautifully restored Kawasaki H2C (1975 model). This motorcycle was a "frame & cases" up restoration. It was done about 4 years ago & has had 2521 miles put on it since then. All black parts including the frame have been powdercoated, the bright metal parts have been re-zinced. The sheet metal stripped to bare metal & re-finished in factory colors. The original seat pan has a new foam & seat cover installed with original seat trims. The crankshaft got rebuilt with new rods, lab seals & main bearings. Cylinders re-bored to 1mm oversize. transmission & clutch were repaired and re-shimmed as needed. It got all new cables, fork tubes, seals, tires, chain & sprockets, steering bearings and many other new and NOS parts. It starts & runs well, all electrics work properly. The same original key works ignition, seat & fork locks. It has the original airbox, chain oiler, spare plug holder as well as original exhaust in great condition (there are a FEW small dings in the mufflers).  The original fuel valve in good condition will be included with the motorcycle (not shown in pictures). This motorcycle would be a great addition to a collection, or could be ridden daily.

International bidders are welcome.

The winning bidder is expected to send a $500.00 deposit by PayPal within 2 days of auction end. The remainder will be due within 10 days by pre-agreed to method (if you need other arrangements, please contact me before auction end). Crateing is available for a fee of $200 if needed, and I am able to load it with a fork lift (no extra cost). I can store the motorcycle for 2-3 weeks while shipping/pick-up are being set up (if you need more time, please contact me before end of auction).

We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.

2014 Kawasaki Estrella Retro-Styled 250 Announced for Japan

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Fans of classic-styled motorcycles will have to go to Japan to find the 250cc Kawasaki Estrella. The Estrella has been around since 1992 but apart from a few years of European availability in the late ’90s, has mostly been confined to Kawasaki’s home market. Updated for 2014 with a new seat and color options, the Estrella remains powered by an air-cooled 249cc Single.

Schoolboy Heroes

A wet and grey day in Calais in 1992 wouldn’t be the obvious situation for a life changing experience, but for a 11 year old lad on a boring booze cruise from Dover this is exactly what happened. Pockets bulging with funny money I headed to the Tabac for the obligatory bangers, dirty playing cards and some sweets.  Then it happened, I stood in front of the magazine rack and reached up, as if drawn by an external force.  At the time I wasn’t tall enough for Playboy or L’ Escort so settled for a copy of Moto Verte, the French motocross mag.  Life would never be the same again. Inside there was a double page spread, with a fresh faced Jeremy McGrath resting a leg over his #15 Honda CR125.  Sporting a pair of fluro MX trousers with a, now retro, bright white surname emblazoned jersey, and casting an eye over a seriously vast motocross park.  I stared at this Sinisalo advert all the way home, partly because all the articles were in foreign, but also because I was transfixed.  What and how do I become a motocross champion?
