Kawasaki Ninja description

Up for sale is my 2007 Ninja 250R. I am the second owner of this bike (bought it from a friend a little over a year ago; has been garaged its entire life) and have loved having it ever since. However, I just acquired a Miata, and the bike is in need of a new owner. With that being said, this bike has been meticulously maintained. I've owned it for about 3000 miles, and since then the following work has been done:

-Carbs cleaned and synced by Manassas Honda/Kawasaki/Suzuki
-Fuel petcock rebuilt
-New OEM Dunlop Tires
-EBC HH Sintered Front Brake Pads / Galfer Semi-Metallic Rear
-Venhill Engineering Stainless Steel Brake Lines in 'Kawasaki Green' (Front & Rear).
-Uni-Trak Six Point Adjustable Rear Shock from the newest generation Ninja 250.
-All fluids (oil, coolant, brake) and filters (air & oil; both OEM Kawasaki parts) changed.
-New NGK Spark Plugs.
-FIAMM "Freeway Blaster" horn (much louder/safer than OEM).

The "bad"
-The wire for the oil pressure light is loose. You simply have to wiggle it from time to time for it to re-illuminate.
-Minor scratches on the left side on the lower cowling and engine cover (barely noticeable; photo included).
-Small (~1 inch) crack on windshield. Not in your line of sight.
-Very small (dime size) dent in the left muffler, and another on the right (visible in image).
-The shift lever is slightly bent in. Very minor; I never notice it when riding, only when looking at it (photo included).
-Oil strainer needs a new gasket, never really bothered me much. Will take < 20 minutes to fix and cost < 20 dollars. Or I'll tack on 50 bucks to the price and I'll do it before you buy it (Labor ain't cheap these days, you know? The lesson here is to learn how to fix it yourself.)

That's about it. I'm flexible on the price if I think you're going to take care of this thing, and I'm being completely transparent on it's pros and cons. However, if you pay full price I'll throw in my spare Shoei RF-900 helmet (black; size small). Sure, it's got that boxy 80's styling and is kind of slow and wet, but with the minor upgrades, low weight/center of gravity, and 13,000 RPM redline, it's a blast to ride and hone your skills with, and I get compliments on how great of condition it's in everywhere I go.

Note: item is for pick up only.

Thanks for looking!

2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Spied in Norway

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Spy photographers have captured images in Norway from a video shoot for what appears to be an updated Kawasaki Ninja 1000. The images show two riders on an updated Ninja 1000 (or Z1000SX, as the bike is known in Europe). The saddlebags indicate this is the Z1000SX Touring variant offered in Europe, but the rest of the motorcycle is otherwise similar to the Ninja 1000 (which, by and by, won our 2011 Gentleman Sportbike Shootout over the Suzuki GSX1250FA and Yamaha FZ1.) The new Ninja 1000 doesn’t look much different from the 2013 model, apart from the new paint job.

It's clear even at night: Losail fries your brain

Thu, 18 Nov 2010

It's 17:55 local time here at the Losail circuit just outside Doha in Qatar. I'm here for the launch of the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R. We've only had two sessions on the bike.

Öhlins-Equipped Special Edition 2014 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R Announced

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few days ago, Kawasaki revealed several 2014 models including a new Ninja 1000 updated with ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, monobloc calipers and optional luggage. Among the model announcements was the 2014 Ninja ZX-14R with three new color options: Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange and Metallic Spark Black, and Flat Ebony and Ebony. But that’s not all Kawasaki had for its 1441cc behemoth.
