Kawasaki Ninja description

Slip on exhaust, fender elim kit! - The 2004 NINJA ZX-6R is Kawasaki's middleweight contender for the 600cc sportbike class, the most popular displacement of sport motorcycles in the United States. With 37 more cubic centimeters of engine displacement than its sibling, the competition-oriented ZX-6RR, it is perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts who want more torque for riding the twisty backroads or racing in modified 600cc sportbikes classes. The extra displacement also gives the NINJA ZX-6R an edge over the competition for everyday, real-world riding. As CycleW said, "Those extra 37cc make for a bigger difference than you'd expect, as the engine produces more midrange torque and the most horsepower compared to its displacement-starved competition." Powering the ZX-6R is a liquid cooled, DOHC, 16-valve, 636cc, four-cylinder engine tuned for optimum performance, especially in the high rpm ranges. Digital fuel injection and large-bore 38mm throttle bodies with sub-throttle valves, plus a centrally located Ram Air duct system works in conjunction with a digital ignition system to deliver precise throttle response through the entire rpm range.

Lascorz smiling in first post-crash photo

Mon, 02 Jul 2012

Nearly three months on since Joan Lascorz's accident in the post-race test at Imola, the first image has appeared showing the Spaniard in good spirits whilst he undergoes rehabilitation. The terrible crash left the 27-year-old factory Kawasaki rider with a fracture to his C6 vertebrae, and fears that it would leave him quadriplegic. Fortunately, as shown in the picture with his raised arm, Lascorz has recovered full sensitivity in his upper limbs.

EICMA 2011: Kawasaki Versys 1000 Not Coming to U.S.

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

While Kawasaki unveiled its Versys 1000 at EICMA, don’t expect to see it on American roadways any time soon (edit: but if you live north of the border in Canada you’re in luck, as it will offered for CN$13,999, a bit higher than the Z1000 but the same price as the Ninja 1000): What will we be missing? A bigger, badder version of the original Kawasaki Versys seems to be the answer. “Created as the long-awaited big brother of Kawasaki’s mid-size any-road street surfer, the new Versys 1000 is designed to enable the greatest riding enjoyment in the widest variety of street riding situations,” Kawasaki Motors Europe says in a release.
