Kawasaki Ninja description

2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R.The NINJA?? ZX-7R sportbike is the platform upon which Kawasaki???s championship-winning Superbike was built. Featuring racetrack-derived technology, this is the machine behind Doug Chandler???s back-to-back ???96-???97 Superbike titles, which extended Kawasaki???s AMA Superbike Championships to nine, the most won by any single manufacturer. It also carried Chandler and his teammate Eric Bostrom to a number of AMA Superbike victories in 2001, 2000 and 1999. Finally, Kawasaki Drag Racing???s Rickey Gadson is a three-time national champion aboard a Muzzy-prepared ZX-7R in AMA/Prostar Drag Racing.Keeping this Superbike champion competitive is a 748cc ultra-short-stroke inline-four-cylinder engine. The short stroke and large bore help increase reliability at high engine rpm and allow for more tuning capability for racing applications. Direct-actuation valve-train components relay the fuel mixture from four 38mm carburetors. Moderate exhaust-valve timing produces strong midrange for real-world power on the street. Exhaust gasses are then expelled through a 4-into-2-into-1 system for optimum performance and quiet running.A pair of large, aggressive air intakes at the front of the aerodynamic fairing feed the ZX-7R???s Twin Ram Air Induction system. This system, combined with a steep carburetor downdraft angle and Straight Shot Intake ports, increases volumetric efficiency for more power.

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.

The TT800 From Deus Ex Machina

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Deus Ex Machina, the surf/moto shop known for creating throwback, one-of-a-kind motorcycles, has released its latest work of art, the TT800. Paying tribute to the highly successful Triumph factory TT machines from the mid-1960s, Deus’ expert builder, Michael Woolaway, created the TT800 for a customer requesting a new, old Triumph. It sources a Kawasaki W650 bored out to 800cc with CR carbs, a custom TT inspired exhaust, custom chromoly racing frame, re-valved Öhlins forks, and a custom gusseted swing arm for more stability. A Beringer six-piston caliper front brake provides stopping power.
