Kawasaki KZ250 description

Up for sale is a 1981 Kawasaki KZ250 rare collectible motorcycle in good condition with only 7600 miles. This bike is an oldie, but a goodie. I took it for a spin after getting it running, and it shifts well, and accelerates as expected. The more I work on it the more I just want to keep it for myself. It has room on the seat and foot pegs for the passenger.

Parts recently replaced or restored to working order:
  • Newly upholstered seat
  • New accelerator cable
  • New front brake handle
  • New spark plug
  • New blinker flasher module
  • Repainted gas tank
  • Restored blinker and horn switches to working order
  • Adjusted rear brake to have less play
  • Engine idle adjusted

I am not a motorcycle specialist (so don't expect too much), but I will try to provide you with an honest description. Please refer to the condition description below, and also look at the pictures

Condition Description
Typical wear as would be found on a bike from 1981. Probably sat in sun for some years. Front tire has severe radial cracks, will eventually need to be replaced. Rear tire has a couple of small cracks. There is a whining noise in the speedometer. Gas tank has some light rust. Frame has light rust in places, but is sound. Hardware to attach front brake cable to front brake is missing, but temporarily connected. Engine runs well. Transmission shifts well. Front suspension seems to be soft. Keyed seat lock does not seem to work. Helmet locks do work. General light pitting of chrome. All lights function and instruments function, except a switch that might be missing on the right handlebar. I don't know what it is supposed to control....maybe the air conditioner? :0)

If you have any questions, please ask. I would be more than happy to answer your questions about this bike.

What you get in this auction.....  1 neato-awesome collectible motorcycle with a clear title, and the potential for lots of enjoyment!

I cannot ship it, so you'll have to either arrange your own shipping, or come and get it yourself.

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

IF you have a ZX-10R and want it to look more like Tom Sykes' WSBK bike, then this sticker kit is a good start and saves you the £100,000 you'd have to spend to build the real thing. Here's what Kawasaki have to say about it:  As the premier road motorcycle based racing series, the World Superbike Championship is followed by racing enthusiasts across the globe – none more so than in Europe where the Kawasaki Racing Team, is based. UK born rider, Tom Sykes and Frenchman Loris Baz have entertained all year and both have a strong fan base eager to see how Kawasaki’s factory team and riders perform.

Supercross Preview With Factory Kawasaki Riders Ryan Villopoto & Jake Weimer

Wed, 04 Jan 2012

In anticipation of this Saturday’s Supercross opener in Anaheim, California, Kawasaki invited a select crowd of enthusiasts and journalists to join their employees at the corporate offices in Irvine, California, for the annual Team Monster Energy Kawasaki pep rally. We sat down with defending SX champ, Ryan Villopoto, and his teammate, Jake Weimer, to get their perspectives on the upcoming season. Both men entered last season at less than 100%.
