Kawasaki H1 500 F Mach III description

1974 Kawasaki H1 F in amazing, fairly original condition. 7010 original miles! Starts easy, runs great, shifts through all the gears easy with a strong clutch.
Purchased from the original owner by a collector quite recently and now offered for sale. The bike had been stored indoors for some 24 years. Always a California bike, it resided unused in the high desert area of the Lancaster/Bakersfield metropolis.
Apart from the notations above concerning damaged or missing parts the bike is pretty much all there and rides well. It still had some 24 year old gas in the tank but despite this the carb bowls look like new. Inside the gas tank are signs of light rust and some old gas residue. Most of this cleaned up with a single over night treatment of 'Evapo Rust'. An amazing product. An inner coating of the gas tank would probably be advisable if the bike were intended for long term use. Plugs were changed, oils were renewed and she fires right up using a remote gas tank containing a 'safety first' pre-mix of 80:1. The oil injector pump works well though. Bike idles happily, if a little off kilter due to the one missing baffle. Runs strong and sounds as good as these bikes always did. Amazing machines.
As noted above, the title was lost long ago by the original owner. The bike is out of the CA DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) system so should be a straight forward process to re-title in the new owners name. I have a bill of sale signed by the original owner to facilitate that process.
I apoligize in advance as I may not be able to reply to questions from the afternoon of Tuesday June 14th until the morning of Saturday June 18th. I'll be on a trip to an area that has no cell service. That's the reason I chose to make this a 10 day auction. Thank you.

Kawasaki Vulcan SS

Mon, 28 Dec 2015

Jesse Bassett from the GasBox workshop became a contender for the title of Kawasaki designer. As part of the Breaking Boundaries Build-Off program, the evergreen brand offered him and five other designers to try their hand at tuning the Vulcan S. Without hesitation, Bassett cut the rear fender, installed a new seat, a long shock absorber and wheels.
