Back then, he could already see where the future of motocross was heading and in KTM he found an ideal partner for his vision: efficient and maximum practicable performance from smaller displacements in an overall package that's tailored unconditionally to the requirements of the rider. Four years or so later, it's ready: the new 350 SX-F. With a new engine, fuel injection system and smaller displacement, new bodywork, new chassis - in fact, a whole new concept. EICMA 2012: KTM Unleashes the Beast with 1290 Super Duke R Prototype
Tue, 13 Nov 2012Last week, KTM teased its new large-displacement naked prototype, revealing a brief glimpse and an audio recording of the engine on the so-called “beast”. KTM has now revealed the beast, presenting the new 1290 Super Duke R prototype at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. Due to launch some time in 2013, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R will top a full line of naked Duke models which includes the 125, 200, newly revealed 390, 690 and 990.
2015 KTM 1290 Super Adventure Confirmed
Wed, 20 Aug 2014KTM has officially confirmed it will launch the new 1290 Super Adventure on Sept. 30 at the Intermot show in Cologne. To tide us over until then, KTM released this official image of the adventure-tourer and provided a few details, describing it as the “absolute pinnacle of luxury sport-touring riding.” Based on its name, we assume the Super Adventure will use the same engine as the 1290 Super Duke R.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has 271 points with five rounds remaining.
