KTM 990 Supermoto T description

The 990 SMT is an amazing motorcycle! I've had the bike straight from the dealership and loved every minute that I've owned it. However, life changes and it's time to sell. I am definitely sad to have to be selling it but other things require my financial attention.

I bought the bike from Scuderia West in San Francisco in September of 2012. I had a friend working there at the time. I've taken the bike on two longer rides during my ownership. The first being the one up to Seattle from the dealership. The second being an amazing trip down through Nevada and Colorado and back. Mostly it's been around town and within the state. It is absolutely as wonderful a motorcycle for fun weekend rides as it is for longer touring. It's got a fun twitchy throttle response and is remarkably fast but also smooth and easy to control. One warning, it's not a bike for beginners.

I've added a bunch of items to the bike:
• Akrapovic Exhaust and header
• Aluminum 37 L side cases, KTM
• Quicklock carrier kit for cases, including the locking clasps
• Aluminum case carrying handles
• Front end crash bars
• LED auxiliary light kit
• Heated Grips (not installed yet)
• Cam kit for fine tuning the throttle response (not installed yet)
• Center stand

I've got the owners manual, tool kit, all service records, receipts, and 2 keys each for the bike, side cases, and locking case mounting rails. I've also got all of the original parts, including the stock exhaust components, and soft cases. I will include all these items with the sale of the bike.

The bike has never been crashed but has fallen over twice. Once on the first day I owned it when a friend who I let test ride it put it on the side stand in an unstable location. The second being when I was putting it up on the center stand and it slipped. It fell into a friends bike but not completely over. There is a very small scuff on the tank (shown in the images) and a few small scratches on the crash guards as a result of these two falls. Otherwise the bike is in fantastic condition.

As mentioned above, I have the heated grips kit but never installed it. I'll also include a cam kit for fine tuning the throttle response. The tires are Michelin Pilot Road 3s and show very little tread wear.

I've made every attempt to accurately depict the condition of the bike. Anything not noted above is represented in photos. THE PHOTOS ARE EQUIVALENT TO THE DESCRIPTION. Please contact me if you have any further questions.

2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.

KTM Unveils E3W Concept, an Electric Plastic City Car

Fri, 12 Aug 2011

KTM has revealed a radical new concept vehicle, a three-wheeled electric city car with a body made of plastic. Designed as a compact, efficient urban transportation vehicle, the KTM E3W was created by KTM, the Austrian Institute of Technology design studio Kisha (as in Gerald Kisha, the KTM designer behind such models as the 1190 RC8R and 125 Duke.) The E3W has two wheels at the front with a single drive wheel at the rear. The E3W seats two people, entering the car through Lamborghini-esque scissor doors for easy access in tight parking spaces.

Milan Show: KTM 125 Duke... M/C Saviour

Wed, 03 Nov 2010

Of the bikes that we saw at the EICMA show it wasn’t an electronically supported sports bike or a unique and genre-defining muscle machine that were impressive, but the host of learner friendly 125 singles and in particular the KTM 125 Duke. On first glance the 125 Duke looks wild with the token angular bodywork that befits the company’s overall styling cues and the bike was swamped with enamoured gazes from all ages – in particular an Italian father and son who spent well over 10 minutes looking over every inch of the lil’ Duke with mouth-watering anticipation. The three colour options are ideal for the teenage crowd that KTM are trying to attract with this bike.
