1953 Indian Chief Roadmaster VIN: CS61055 This Chief was purchased new in 1953 by the grandfather of Pat Emick of Billings, Montana. Pre-owned primarily as a ranch vehicle in South Dakota it had only 9600 mis as of 1999. When Pat obtained the bike he set about a complete restoration with the assistance of Bob Stark of Starklite Cycle. After its restoration the Indian was sold in 1999 to a broker in California who kept the bike for a few years before selling it to Joe McPherson of Joe's Garage in Tustin, CA in 2005. He kept the bike until it moved on to it last owner in 2008. CS61055 is 1 of the last 200 motorcycles Indian produced before they closed their doors in 1953. 80 cubic inch (1310cc) V-Twin engine, 40 horsepower 62in wheelbase 560 pounds Top speed: 95mph Original price: $960.00 -

Polaris Reports Q3 2012 Results

Polaris reported a record third quarter including a 78% year-on-year increase in on-road vehicle sales, most of which is from Victory Motorcycles. According to the Minnesota company’s third quarter report, Polaris recorded a profit of $94.3 million in the three months ended Sept. 30, 2012, compared to a profit of $67.6 million reported in the same quarter of 2011.

Hybrid Motorcycle Gets 282 MPG

The ET-120 is the hybrid version of the Strike EV that was released earlier by Eko Vehicles based in Bangalore, India and claims to be the first hybrid motorcycle in the world.  The new hybrid bike will feature a 70cc gas engine and electric motor that will get 120 km/l or about 282 mpg in hybrid mode, has a top speed of 40 mph but the power and torque will be equivalent to a 120cc engine. McQueen’s Husky on the Auction Block

Thirty-two years after his death, Steve McQueen still reigns as the coolest movie star to ever ride a motorcycle. One of his preferred brands was Husqvarna (another, seen here, was Triumph) and to the delight of motorcycle enthusiasts and McQueen fans alike, one of his bikes will soon be in the hands of a new owner. This 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross owned and ridden by Steve McQueen will be up for auction on January 10th, at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, by Bonhams. The motorcycle comes with an exhaustive quantity of documents supporting its provenance and authenticity.
