Indian Chief description
1948 80 cubic inch Chief Featured in the December 2011 issue of Iron Works magazine. 1st place winner at the Sacramento Autorama
The bike and sidecar were built with the best available parts over a 10 year period. The speedometer is an NOS Stewart Warner unit with 70 actual miles now showing. The entire bike and sidecar have been upgraded to a 12 Volt system charged by a Cycle Electric generator. The sidecar brake has been upgraded using a 47-48 Chief front drum, with new axle, bearings, backing plate and brake shoes. It will skid the tire. The Chief was built using NOS engine and transmission parts. Custom all aluminum Indian sidecar built by Iron Horse Corral... with leather interior, Sidecar has GPS driven speedo with clock and volt meter, and has a complete stereo system behind the seat which can play music from an iPod or any mp3 player as well as from an SD card similar to a camera card. All components of the sidecar body are made from aluminum because it has never been done before. Iron Horse Corral builds sidecar bodies, fenders and tanks exclusively for Indians up to 1953, so this bike is a show piece for most all of the products from my shop. We have enjoyed showing it and looking at it for many years and it's time for another project. The entire build pictorial of this rig can be viewed on our Facebook page under Iron Horse Corral. There is also a 4 minute video on youtube that can be accessed on our website indianfenders.com go to the gallery page and click on the photo of the 48 Chief

Tue, 06 Aug 2013This is a small sample of the participants in Monday’s annual Legends Ride from Deadwood to Sturgis. Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.
