Indian Chief description

You are biddding on a 1939 Indian Chief.  Frame number 339.  Speedometer is a 130mph, which is original.  Bike has a 1940 Chief engine with loads of comprssion.  I have never tried to start this bike.  Im sure it would start fine.  Left hand shift-right hand gas.  Bike needs tail light lens and retainer, speedo cable, tool box and a battery.  Extra parts that come with bike are a rebuilt generator, generator will be converted to 12 volt and battery tie down brakets.  Bike was fixed up 10 years ago.  Bike looks great, condition is good.   No rust on frame or sheet metal.  Fenders and tank are original.  They are not reproduction.  No holes in tanks.  Wheels are nice.  Bearings are good in wheels.  Front fork is nice.  This would be an easy project to complete. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.

Exceptions such as “The World’s Fastest Indian,” “On Any Sunday,” “Faster” and “Take It To The Limit” exist, but gems like these are rarities. An attractive female straddling a bike on the big screen — no matter how audacious, unbelievable or misguided — usually gets a pass.
