Husqvarna 250 Cross 4-speed description

1970 Husqvarna 250 Cross

-no hidden reserve-

1970 Husqvarna 250 Cross - This is a correct numbered and great running 250 Cross. Totally original other than an excellent condition Hooker Headers racing pipe. Trelleborg T544 tires are in excellent condition, original Akront rims excellent, original steel & aluminum fenders are quite nice (front has a small crack), original airbox with new Uni-filter. Original shrouded Girling shocks still dampen, as do front forks. Original grey oiler cables, front fender bracket, early bend original Husky handlebars. Bike runs extremely well with a Mikuni carb upgrade, but the original Bing carb is included for anyone wanting to go back to 100% original. All orig. Magura controls, all chain guides & chain guards. The only New items on bike are new chain, new grips, and new air filter element, otherwise this bike is remarkably correct. Has OEM Husky number plates (not reproduction) with Husky part numbers on back side. Original tank is off of a 400 Cross but does still have it's original paint, with some vintage stickers camoflauging a few dings. NO RUST at all inside tank. It is really getting harder to find 4-speed Huskies in this kind of shape any more.

NOTE: I did a VIN check with Vintage Viking's records, and all available info says this bike was sold new to a dealer in Pontiac, MI and was then used on the trade show circuit to promote Husky sales prior to being released for public sale. I purchased this bike out of the MI area where it had obviously lived it's whole life and then had a minor cosmetic resto performed.

This bike is also for sale on my website AzMikesVMXbikes.com, and I reserve the right to end auction early with an acceptable offer. Any buyers wishing to make offer may contact me and I will insert a Buy-it Now option here on ebay so that buyer may end the auction early.

$250.00 deposit due within 1 day through Paypal. Balance to be paid in full either upon pick up with cash, or in advance with check or wire transfer. Bike does not leave my possession until paid in full and all funds have cleared.

This is a used, vintage, off road, competition equipped motorcycle. It is sold in AS-IS condition with no guarantees or warrantees expressed or implied. Please know that no matter how nice a bike looks from the surface, there will INVARIABLY be items which need to be serviced, repaired, or replaced BY YOU prior to riding or racing it.

SHIPPING: All shipping costs and scheduling are the responsibility of the BUYER, but I can help with shipping anywhere in the world. Please contact me for details.

Husqvarna Developing ABS for Off-Road Use

Thu, 03 Nov 2011

Husqvarna announced it will introduce the worlds’ first anti-lock braking system designed for off-road racing, equipping a BMW-developed off-road ABS to Husqvarna’s flagship TE449. On paved roads, ABS prevents wheels from locking up, keeping them rotating and providing traction. Off the pavement however, rear wheel lockup is helpful for stopping on loose surfaces such as dirt and gravel.

2011 a Success for Husqvarna North America

Wed, 08 Feb 2012

Husqvarna‘s worldwide shipment totals were down 23% in 2011 but the numbers don’t tell the whole story for the BMW-owned brand, especially when it comes to the North American market. According to BMW’s 2011 fiscal year report, Husqvarna delivered 9,286 units in 2011, compared to 12,066 units in 2010. What those figures do not explain is BMW intentionally reduced supply to dealerships to help clear excess inventory.

McQueen’s Husky on the Auction Block

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

Thirty-two years after his death, Steve McQueen still reigns as the coolest movie star to ever ride a motorcycle. One of his preferred brands was Husqvarna (another, seen here, was Triumph) and to the delight of motorcycle enthusiasts and McQueen fans alike, one of his bikes will soon be in the hands of a new owner. This 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross owned and ridden by Steve McQueen will be up for auction on January 10th, at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, by Bonhams. The motorcycle comes with an exhaustive quantity of documents supporting its provenance and authenticity.
