Honda Other description

A Honda SL70 1971 red and white in great shape starts on first kick. The motor has been rebuilt with a fresh .50 overbore, new piston, rings, pin, cam chain, all gaskets, seals, points,  and new case screws, or bolts, and air filter. The front forks have new fork seals, with the lower tubes refinished. New wheel bearings front and back, with new tires. New seat cover and brads, brake and clutch levers, grips, rear shock bolts and washers, some other new nuts and bolts I am forgetting. Tank has been repainted and clean enough inside I don't have a filter on it. I never bought a battery or a pipe cover for it. The front rim, spokes are in great shape, the rear is missing one outer spoke and has one bad spot in it, but I have a new rear rim that I was going to get a new set of spokes for but never got to it, you will get it if it meets reserve.

Remember push starts?

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Alongside the most stunning collection of race and road bikes at their Motegi museum, next to some race bikes, Honda also has a step by step guide on most aspects of riding. I photographed the wonderful text on push starting but I also have lots of equally hilarious instructions on cornering braking and even what a riders goal should be. Watch this space...... oh, and hopefully see you at the NEC over the next ten days!

MotoGP should return to Suzuka

Thu, 14 Jul 2011

Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.

Best Helmet Designs from the 2009 MotoGP Season

Unlike with most athletes, motorcycle racers’ faces remain hidden during competition. Except for promotional events or pre- and post-race interviews, the faces of our racing heroes are shielded under protective helmets with tinted visors. You don’t see the same human emotion in their faces like you can when soccer players score a goal or baseball players hit a home run.
