FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.

EICMA 2013: Returning 2014 Honda Models Announced

Along with an all-new CTX1300 and CBR1000RR SP announced at the 2013 EICMA show, Honda announced several more models returning for 2014 with some minor updates and new color options. Several of these models, such as the 500 series and the Gold Wing F6B were only introduced last year, so they receive just a palette update, while other models like the NC700X return with minor tweaks. Chasing Summer – Baja Champions Star in Red Bull Web Series [Video]

Kendall Norman and Cody Quinn are starring in a new YouTube video series produced by Red Bull, featuring the two multiple-time Baja winners preparing for the 2011 Baja 1000. The two riders teamed up with Hollywood stunt rider Logan Holladay to win the 2011 Baja 1000 for the JCR Honda team in November. To prepare for the competition, Norman, a six-time Baja 1000 and Baja 500 champion, and Quinn, four-time Baja 1000 winner, rode  Honda CRF450Xs on a 12-day, 2800-mile off-road trip exploring the terrain between San Diego and Baja.
