For Sale: 1983 Honda VT500FT Ascot project bike and various parts (tanks, fenders, etc.). The VT500 Ascot is a 500cc, V-twin, water cooled, shaft drive motorcycle designed with minimal maintenance in mind. This is the "FT" series (Flat Track styling) which morphed into the 'Shadow' cruiser in 1985. Honda sold these models in the US only in 1983 & 1984 and they've become sought after classics. The Ascot's are torquey, quick, well handling & dependable bikes that are lots of fun to ride. As a middleweight, it's small and nimble enough for urban commuting, and yet large enough for two-up highway rides. It's got a fairly close ration gearbox, plus the addition of an overdrive (sixth) highway gear with an OD indicator on the instruments. He was doing some one-on-one instruction at a two-day Focused Events track bash, the first to be held at the newly reopened Leicestershire circuit.
