Honda Other description

Thanks for looking at my 1975 Honda XL 175.  As you know I have perfect feedback selling motorcycles and antiques since 1999 and I tell you this so you can bid with complete confidence.

I came across this ONE OWNER bike this spring the day it was brought into a local shop by the original owner.   The shop owned it for a few hours and then me, so it’s not completely a one owner, but for all practical purposes it is.

So what makes this bike so special you are asking yourself?  For starters it was city driven, not off road and not jumped or beat on, but adult owned, garaged and meticulously maintained.  As you know bikes like this were mostly used for their purpose which is to off road on, be a workhorse on a farm and to be abused and used.  Good lord Honda built them to be abused and stand up to it which is why we all buy old thrashed 40 plus year old Hondas and keep riding them cause they can take it.

My friends this is an AMAZING specimen and I haven’t seen one like this in years.  It’s nearly 100% stock and unrestored.

Look at the pictures it’s all ORIGINAL and never been rebuilt, just lovingly taken care of and ridden around town.

I have 20 plus pages of historical documentation on this bike from the original receipt to what I understand is every receipt of everything done or bought for it.  I’ve not seen one so well documented and taken care of. Also included in the documentation are 2 original Honda sales brochures, title documentation, owner’s manual and the salesman’s business card.

WHATS NEW:  Tires, tubes, battery, fork seals, oil, plug, chain, grips and points.

WHAT IT NEEDS:  I don’t care for the red grips they should go back to stock black ones, the left turn signal works intermittently, so perhaps a flasher is needed.  If the gas is left on it can drip, so the float likely should be replaced too, which is $20 for OEM.  That is it less than $30 bucks and it’s perfect.

HOW DOES IT START?  Turn the key, give it a couple twists of the throttle and kick it over.  It’s a one kick bike or two at the most.

HOW DOES IT RUN?  I am a motorcycle guy so I know how bikes run and this is a joy to drive.  It starts right up, shifts and brakes perfectly.  EVERYTHING WORKS like it should!!!!   It really needs nothing the bike runs as well as a new bike.

HOW DOES IT LOOK?  As you can see in the pictures it’s in BEAUTIFUL stock condition.  It could use a little polishing “elbow grease” on the chrome and aluminum, but nothing is corroded or pitted that would have to be replaced.  Look at how beautiful the gas tank is there isn’t a scratch or dent or nick in it.  The seat is completely tear or scuff free and even under the seat it looks amazing.  Open the tool kit and you’ll see it’s all there and in excellent condition showing no wear.

NEED MORE INFO?  You can reach out to me and we can talk on the phone, I can get you more photos if needed of specific parts on the bike.

WHY AM I SELLING IT?  I bought this for my wife to ride around on and it just hasn’t happened like planned and I have to replace my Central Air Conditioner on the house, so this needs to help pay for that.  I hate to see it go.  Since I bought it I’ve put maybe 50 miles on it around town.

Buyer needs to put at least $500.00 in PayPal within 24 hours of auctions end or pay it in full.  Buyer to arrange pickup from a freight company.  Once you do this they typically show up with a lift truck and load it on a flat with straps and I can assist with this.

2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.
