Honda Gold Wing description

+++2005 HONDA GOLDWING GL1500, BEAUTIFUL CANDY BLACK CHERRY (DEEP MAROON)+++

+++ LOADED WITH USUAL GOLDWING AMENITIES PLUS NICE EXTRAS+++

+++EXCELLENT APPEARANCE AND MECHANICAL CONDITION+++

THE GL1800 IS THE LATEST GENERATION OF THE SMOOTHEST QUIETEST TOURING BIKE ON THE ROAD. STILL 6-CYLINDER HORIZONTAL OPPOSED, WATER COOLED, SHAFT DRIVEN, CRUISE CONTROL, FACTORY AM/FM/WITH INTEGRATED INTERCOM SYSTEM

HOWEVER, THE GL1800 IS NOT YOU "GRANDFATHER'S GOLDWING". IT IS A GENUINE SPORT TOURING BIKE AND WHAT I LIKE TO CALL A "GENTLEMAN'S CROTCH ROCKET"

LIGHTER THAN THE GL1500, ESTIMATED 120 HP, FUEL INJECTED, ALL THE POWER YOU'LL EVER WANT  PLUS SUPERB HANDLING

HONDA STARTED A "WHOLE NEW BALLGAME" WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE FIRST GOLDWING IN 1975 AND THE GL1800 CONTINUES THE TRADITION OF RELIABILITY, LONGEVITY, AND THE CLOSEST TO "BULLETPROFF" OF ANYTHING WITH MOVING PARTS.

MANY GL1800'S ARE STILL GOING STRONG WITH NO OVERHAUL OR ISSUES AT 200K, 300K, OR MORE MILES. GWRRA'S "WING WORLD" MAGAZINE HAD AN ARTICLE ON AN '02 THAT WAS STILL GOING STRONG AT 400K PLUS MILES. PHOTO OF THAT ARTICLE PAGE IS AT END OF PICS.

SO THIS ONE IS JUST STARTED WITH 127K MILES. 2 YEARS AGO I HAD AN '04 WITH 145K MILES AND AN '01 WITH BARELY 30 K MILES AND HONESTLY COULD NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN FEEL OR RIDE ONE TO THE OTHER. ONLY DIFFERENCE I NOTICED WAS THE 145K MILE BIKE DID NOT HAVE THE ALTERNATOR "WHINE" OF THE LOWER MILE BIKE. SEEMS TO TAKE 75K MILES OR SO FOR THE ALTERNATOR TO QUIET DOWN.

+++USUAL GOLDWING AMENITIES ON THIS ONE INCLUDING+++

+++FACTORY AM/FM/++WEATHER BAND++ RADIO WITH INTEGRATED INTERCOM SYSTEM+++

+++ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL WITH ACCEL/DECEL/RESUME JUST LIKE YOUR CAR'S+++

+++ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION CONTROL FOR RIDE ADJUSTMENT+++

+++LEGENDARY GOLDWING REVERSE+++

+++EXTRAS ON THIS ONE INCLUDE:+++

+++LIGHTED TRUNK SPOILER (BRAKE LIGHT - GOOD SAFETY FEATURE)+++

+++LIGHTED TRUNK AND SADDLEBAG TRIM (SEE NIGHT PHOTO)+++

+++FRONT LOWER FAIRING LIGHTED CHROME TRIM+++

+++HEATED GRIPS - (HONDALINE)- VERY NICE ON COLDER DAYS +++

+++LIGHTS ABOVE ENGINE VALVE COVERS (SEE PHOTOS)+++

+++CHROME FRONT ROTOR COVER WITH KURYAKYN "RING OF FIRE" LIGHTS+++

+++CHROME FRONT FENDER RAIL AND REAR "GOLDWING" TRUNK HANDLE +++

TIRES ARE BOTH 50% PER TIRE GAUGE MEASUREMENTS SO GOOD TO GO FOR A LONG TIME

++++PLEASE NOTE AGAIN THAT THIS IS A +++NO RESERVE+++ AUCTION. HIGH BIDDER WILL DEFINITELY WIN. NO WONDERING AT WHAT PRICE IT IS REALLY FOR SALE!!!

THAT BEING SAID --- PLEASE BID ONLY IF READY AND ABLE TO BUY. NON-PAYING HIGH BIDDERS JUST MUCK IT UP FOR THE REST OF US.

++++ABSOLUTELY NO CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE CHECKS!!!! (DON'T EVEN ASK)

CAN SHIP ALMOST ANYWHERE BUT NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO COME TO YUMA, ARIZONA, AND RIDE IT HOME THROUGH SOME BEAUTIFUL SOUTHWEST DESERT SCENERY. YUMA HAS SCHEDULED AIRLINE SERVICE AND PHOENIX SKY HARBOR HAS SHUTTLES TO YUMA

+++CAN SHIP TO MUCH OF THE SOUTHWEST FOR $300 AND HAVE SEVERAL OTHER PROFESSIONAL RELIABLE BIKE SHIPPERS

IF NEW TO EBAY (LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACKS) PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE BIDDING. MY ALMOST 3300 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK RECORD SPEAKS FOR MY INTEGRITY AS A SELLER SO THINK THAT FAIR IF YOU DON'T HAVE A TRACK RECORD.

+++WINNER TO CONTACT SELLER WITHIN 24 HOURS, PREFERABLE IMMEDIATELY +++

PLEASE NOTE REQUIREMENT FOR IMMEDIATE DEPOSIT PAYMENT. JUST TOO MANY FLAKES ON EBAY LATELY SO WANT TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT HIGH BIDDER IS REALLY GOING TO BUY.

THIS IS A REALLY BEAUTIFUL EXCELLENT CONDITION GL1800 THAT RUNS AND RIDES LIKE A NEW ONE FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST

+++THANKS FOR LOOKING AND KEEP PRAYING FOR OUR TROOPS! (USAF, USAR, RET)+++

Magneti Marelli to Supply Electronics System to MotoGP Teams

Wed, 26 Sep 2012 00:00:00 -0700

It’s no secret that promoter Dorna Motorsports has been trying to push a standardized electronics control unit for teams in the MotoGP World Championship. The lack of a top-tier electronics package has been one of the biggest challenges faced by MotoGP’s claiming rule teams, and a spec ECU would narrow the gap between the CRT bikes and the factory prototypes. The manufacturers competing in the series, Honda, Ducati and Yamaha, understandably are resistant to the idea considering the effort they’ve put in to develop their electronics systems.

Thumbs up for a chilly N.E.C.

Wed, 08 Dec 2010 00:00:00 -0800

Apart from the freaky weather I have to say last week’s Carole Nash Motorcycle Live N.E.C. show was the best Birmingham event I've attended in the ten years. I really appreciate the fact that manufacturers chose to ignore the recession giving us great stands to cater for every enthusiast young and old.  Aprilia made a welcome return and I don’t know anyone that didn’t enjoy admiring the WSB RSV4, surely the the most gorgeous bike on the planet? The Honda stand rarely disappoints and this year was no exception with banking bikes providing fun for all the family.

Press launches - the ugly truth. Part 3

Sun, 03 Apr 2011 00:00:00 -0700

So with an afternoon of sightseeing completed (a rare luxury on most launches) it's back to the hotel for the press conference. These are you usually long winded, tooth pulling affairs with Japanese technicians insisting on speaking their bestest engrish which only serves to elongate the proceedings. Nothing kills a presentation more than reading every word of a powerpoint slide verbatum, even thought the viewers can read exactly the same words (and probably a lot faster).  The Crossrunner presentation was mercifully brief and snappy followed by dinner in the hotel and a reasonably early night as everyone had already been up for twenty hours.
