1988 HONDA GOLDWING GL1500 - I PURCHASED THIS FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WITH ONLY 19,141 MILES ON IT AND I AM FORCED TO RESELL IT DUE TO A JOB LOSS. *I AM ACTUALLY CONSIDERED THE SECOND OWNER SINCE I DID HAVE THE TITLE TRANSFERRED FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER TO MYSELF.  I FOUND OUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO SELL IT UNLESS I TRANSFERRED THE TITLE TO MY NAME.  BUT SINCE I HAVE NOT LICENSED IT OR DRIVEN IT MUCH THE BIKE COULD BE LOOKED AT ESSENTIALLY AS A ONE OWNER.  IT IS ALL ORIGINAL - WITH - REVERSE - ORIGINAL TOOL KIT & OWNERS MANUAL - HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL - AIR HOSE - HEEL TOE SHIFTER - FRONT FLOOR BOARDS - DRIVERS BACK REST - PASSENGER ARM RESTS - CB - INTERCOM - RADIO/TAPE PLAYER WITH FRONT & REAR SPEAKERS - TRUNK RACK. I HAVE ONLY PUT ABOUT 50 MILES ON THE BIKE BUT IT RUNS GREAT, SMOOTH, FAST, QUIET AND VERY RESPONSIVE. UNFORTUNATELY I'VE LOST MY JOB SINCE PURCHASING IT AND MY WIFE SAYS IT HAS TO GO UNLESS I GET ANOTHER JOB. THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET. THEREFORE, I HAVE TO SELL IT TO PAY THE MORTGAGE. ITS EITHER LOSE THE BIKE OR LOSE THE HOUSE.

NOTE: THE ARE A COUPLE OF SMALL CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC SHROUD AROUND THE CB AND A SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC BROKEN OFF BELOW THE CB. THERE IS ONE SMALL CRACK IN THE PLASTIC SHROUD AROUND THE RIDE PRESSURE CONTROL PANEL. YOU CAN SEE THESE IN THE PICTURES. THERE IS A SMALL SPLIT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AS YOU CAN ALSO SEE IN THE PICTURES. ALSO, I NOTICED THAT SOME OF THE CONTROLS ARE STICKY AND SLUGGISH FROM SETTING IDLE FOR SO LONG SO I AM NOT COMPLETELY SURE THAT EVERY OPTION IS WORKING AT THIS TIME BUT EVERY OPTION IS PRESENT. SOME OF THE ACCESSORIES MAY NEED ATTENTION IN ORDER TO GET THE CONTROLS WORKING. FOR INSTANCE THE MUTE BUTTON IS SLOW TO POP IN AND OUT WHEN YOU PUSH IT. IT IS WORKING BUT IT IS SLUGGISH. I THINK YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SPRAY SOME WD40 IN IT AND GET IT TO RESPOND QUICKER. THE TIRES SEEM TO HAVE A DECENT AMOUNT OF TREAD ON THEM AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS. I ALSO TOOK SOME PHOTOS OF A COUPLE OF CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC SHROUD AROUND THE CB AND THE RIDE PRESSURE CONTROLS. I ALSO TOOK A PICTURE OF THE SPLIT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I AM SELLING THIS AS IS SO I HAVE PROVIDED A LOT OF PICTURES. IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER PHOTOS OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK. GOOD LUCK.

I TOOK THE FLOOR BOARDS AND HEEL TOE SHIFTER OFF AND INSTALLED THE OEM FOOT PEGS BECAUSE I AM NOT THAT FAMILIAR WITH RIDING WITH HEEL TOE SHIFTERS. THE FLOOR BOARDS AND HEEL TOE SHIFTER WILL COME WITH THE BIKE WHEN IT SELLS. 

THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VEHICLE PICK UP AND DELIVERY I WOULD BE WILLING TO ASSIST WITH TAKING THE MOTORCYCLE TO LOCAL SHIPPING FACILITY IF IT WOULD HELP. JUST CONTACT ME AND ASK IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SOMETHING LIKE THAT. 

THE MOTORCYCLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTY SO IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME AND CHECK OUT ALL OF THE PHOTOS. THIS IS A PRETTY RARE FIND FOR A 1988 GL1500 WITH ONLY 19,141 MILES SO DON'T PASS IT UP. 

I WILL ACCEPT A CASHIER'S CHECK OR CASH IN PERSON. IF YOU WILL BE PAYING WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN CASH THEN I WILL HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 10 DAYS FOR THAT PAYMENT TO CLEAR THE BANK BEFORE I CAN LET THE MOTORCYCLE LEAVE MY PROPERTY.

Here's a new video from Honda, drumming up interest in their new V4. It's kinda nice, doesn't give much away but get to the end of the video (around 1m20secs in) and you'll hear Honda's new V4. So it's official, they've made it and it'll be out in 2010.

MotoGP Axes Claiming Rule and Adjusts Moto2 Engine Swap Fees

The International Motorcycling Federation‘s Grand Prix Commission officially annulled MotoGP‘s Claiming Rule. Effective immediately, teams using the official spec Magneti Marelli ECU hardware and software are exempt from having their engines claimed. Starting in the 2014 season however, the claiming rule will be cancelled completely.

Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.
