Honda CR description

Bike will be sold with notorized bill of sale. There is no title.

1979 Honda CR250R Elsinore.

Good overall condition. Bike runs good, shifts and stops. No leaks anywhere on engine. Cases have no visible damage.

Aftermarket plastic tank with almost new Acerbis fenders. Seat foam is original and in excellent shape.

Progressive, dual rate rear shocks are in excellent condition and not leaking. I do not know the spring rates, but they are the correct 17.5" length.

Front fork tube chrome is excellent in the stroke range. There is some very slight surface rust between triples. Forks do need new seals. Fork lowers are actually in decent shape. No cracks or large gouged out areas. No broken pinch bolts and no stripped threads.

Rear tire has decent tread left and does hold air. Front tire has very good tread, but does have sidewall cracks/dry rot....it does hold air though.

Rear wheel is very straight and true. It has a Hallman 18" gold rim with heavy duty spokes. No cracks! But on the shifter/left side, has a number of scrapes or gouges in about a 12" section. Possibly from careless transportation or storage. Chrome on spokes is very good, niples have some surface rust.

Front wheel is pretty straight and true. It is the original D.I.D. rim and there is a small flat spot and a small 3/8" crack. There is also some kind of chemical staining or discoloration in the anodizing. It looks like some kind of liquid was poured on rim. It's not terrible, but just want buyer to know.

Original pipe is in really nice shape as far as dings and dents, or any cracks. It does have some tack or spot welds possibly from pulling a dent or maybe had some pin holes. Pipe metal is completely solid, no signs of rust through from the inside. Silencer is original, but has some good dents. Inside core and exhaust flow is straight and not affected by the exterior dents.

Frame is straight. Subframe is not tweaked from being looped out. Bottom frame rails are not crushed, only minor ding under shifter area.

Throttle is not stock. It's a whirlpool style that rolls smoothly and snaps back. Clutch feels very good and has a shorty lever. Front brake lever is an unbreakable lever from back in the day(uni lever I think) and has a slightly "mushy" feel. May be the lever or maybe needs a new cable. Bars are perfectly straight.

Air box is original and it does have the original side door/panel. However, it has been previously repaired and it could probably use some attention, i.e...silicone or rtv. It does have a brand new accordion style air filter with attached rubber boot to carb, so it is sealed.

It's a decent, solid, and complete(minus kickstand) bike. Will need very little to be track/trail worthy.
