Honda CBR description

The ONLY reason I am selling my bike is to pay for my final semester of college to get my bachelors degree, this is my baby. I have owned this CBR since August 2005, it was purchased with 438 miles from a dealer. Current mileage on the odometer shows 19,9XX now, but this is inaccurate because both Sprockets and Chain were replaced around 3500 miles. I am the 2nd private owner, from what the dealer told me in 2005 (if you can trust dealers that is...) the original owner could not afford the payments and the bike was repossessed with less then 400 miles. When it was taken the REPO man knocked it over and broke the upper faring and left side middle. However, this was back in 2004 and I have collected NEW OEM fairings and replaced them while I have owned the bike over the last 8 years. You can clearly see in the pictures there is NO damage anywhere on the frame or anywhere else on this CBR. As stated above I converted to a 520 chain, went with the RK XW-Ring GB520GXW, to optimize acceleration I chose a vortex 251a-43 rear and 15 tooth in front, which means +2 teeth in rear and -1 in front, so there are actually LESS miles on this bike and speedo reads about +8MPH (have the stock chain and sprockets). Oil is changed every 1500-2000 miles and regular maintenance done before and after each ride (chain wax, tire pressure, oil/coolant levels). New stator installed at Motoworld of El Cajon through Honda Warranty recall and new battery in 2011. The recently new back tire has about 1000 miles on it, the NEW front tire has about 300 miles (Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa). The bike has Zero Gravity double bubble smoke windscreen (have stock windscreen), Hotbodies LED flush mount front signals, Competition Werks stainless steel fender eliminator LED signals, Akrapovic full race titanium exhaust with carbon tip, $2500 new (have stock exhaust), power commander III, and has been Dyno tuned, have complete graph print out 155.29 max RWHP 74.77 max RWTQ. Also add were Pipercross race air filters, Brisk race spark plugs, full Samco silicone coolant hoses, emission block off plates, Scott Performance Billet stainless steel micron oil filter, lots of weight reduction, major work and Dyno tune done by Lees Cycle Centerhttp://www.leescycle.com/ ~ I have a file folder of receipts and the title in hand. Also I have 2 Pit Bull stands, 4 helmets (2 medium HJC, 2 small SHOEI), and 2 jackets (1 large Joe Rocket mesh summer, 1 medium Shift leather with liner) if you're interested with the bike for added $$. I will not sell any of the extras until the bike has a NEW HOME. Thank you for your interest.

Mystic Mac's 2014 MotoGP predictions

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

There is no real off season in Moto GP.  Although we complain about being starved of racing, for those at the sharp end, in little more than two months they have new bikes to assemble, team staff to put in place and sponsors to nail down that will pay for it all.  This time frame is also tight for riders, as it seems more every year go straight under the surgeon’s knife after the last round and spend the short winter recuperating for the season ahead. The 2014 Moto GP championship looks like a cracker as apart from the ten full factory riders we now have at least eight non factory riders with properly competitive machinery.  We also have five Brits on the grid, two with podium potential.  Whatever happens though (providing you have BT Sport) you can just sit back and enjoy watching the incredible Marc Marquez do things that shouldn’t be possible. Speaking of whom, I didn’t believe a Rossi replacement would come this soon.  And when I say replacement, I mean a rider that is the full package.  Although in some ways quite different to Vale, he’s an equally phenomenal talent plus a very likeable character that appeals to the masses and although respectful to his rivals off track, deadly competitive in the heat of battle.  Being young and good looking he’s obviously a dream for sponsors and the sport in general.  Marquez has evolved in his own way but thankfully into a perfect replacement for our sport when the VR steps down.

Voluntary Recall for Continental ContiMotion Sport-Touring Tires

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Continental Tire announced a voluntary recall campaign for certain ContiMotion sport-touring tires. According to Continental, market feedback has shown some tires may experience uneven wear from the 180/60R16 74H ContiMotion rear tires. Tires may develop groove cracking and, in some cases, belt lift, conditions which can lead to a loss of tire inflation pressure and a potential for loss of control.

Maybe the Evo class is the future for WSB?

Thu, 05 May 2011

Did we see the future of World Superbike racing last weekend at the BSB event? Possibly, but only if everyone is on Evo spec machines in 2012. By setting the 2nd fastest lap in race one and running second for a while in race two, the brilliant Alex Lowes proved that with a good grid position an Evo spec machine can be competitive for part race distance at least.
