Honda All description

VFR/Interceptor DLX

Honda original equipment included quick shifter, heated grips, traction control, ABS.

The bike has many upgrades. RAM phone mount, cell phone charger with volt meter, Puig windscreen, Sato bar ends and foot controls, full Delkevic exhaust system, DynoJet with Auto Tune(customized exhaust collector to properly fit the wide band O2 sensor), quick release GIVI top case with functional LED brake lights with removable liner, T-Rex body protection, Sato fork sliders, Sprint air filter, PAIR system removed with block off plates installed, EGR system removed. Waterproof travel bike cover.

The full exhaust, tuner, and foot controls take it to more of an exotic riding experience. Where as the original foot pegs were squishy rubber the Sato pegs have super sharp knurls that hold your boot in place. Makes it easy to ride on the balls of your feet and keep your toes tucked in. However they are set at the original up and back position, I’m 6’ and the bike has plenty of all day room. The Delkevic stainless steel exhaust is just loud enough to be heard without being annoying and has a nice deep tone. The DynoJet with Auto Tune changed the power delivery from lazy to a definitive rush of speed and power. The bike keeps that Honda VFR smoothness but has gained some attitude with a beautiful F1 sound at full throttle and that beautiful bark when using the quick shifter.
The top case is quick release with functional LED brake lights. The headlamps are LED. Bikes runs perfect. New tires, all services completed . No damage, no crashes. Clear title in hand.

I purchased this bike from Ride Now in Las Vegas, jumped a flight and rode it back, September of 2021, it was 118 degrees and the bike maintained it’s operational temperature and performed flawlessly.

It was 100% stock, but it just needed a few small changes to take it from a “boring old man bike” to an interesting exotic, and bring focus to that wonderful V4 motor. The VFR is an interesting dichotomy of a motorcycle. On one hand it’s this kind of boring sport bike that was designed to perform as an old man’s dreaded sport touring bike, but underneath it has this exotic V4 racing inspired engine, with a single sided swing arm. Then Honda installed this big fat exhaust and pretty much completely masked that beautiful bronze rear wheel, so much so that observers couldn’t even tell it was a single swing arm set up. My intention was to shed that boring cover up and bring out the exotic nature of the design, all the while keeping the bike useable, hopefully that’s where it ended up.

The bike is damage free and shows as new. As far as I can tell an elderly attorney, 65+, was the original owner in Las Vegas. I’m 55, started street riding at 16, dirt at 12, and have ridden and owned many different bikes, from cafe racers, super sports, standard bikes, Metrics to Harleys, and this is a very good motorcycle. It gets lots of compliments at bike nights and cafes.

It flicks well into the corners and will quickly change directions. It’s happy to hold its line in tight corners and in big corners well over 100 mph. The brakes are strong with plenty of feel through the lever. The suspension is fully adjustable front and rear with a remote pre-load adjuster on the rear, very nice for adding in a passenger and not having to get up behind the rear tire to make the adjustment.

I’ll hate to see it go, but I enjoy the process of building and I’m sure there’s another project waiting.

Thanks for checking it out!

Start the ultimate project bike

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

The base for the ultimate project bike have appeared online, a Honda RC211V. The adverts consist of the supposedly the frame from Valentino Rossi's championship dominating machine from 2003 on eBay and a frame that comes complete with the sexy V5 engine. The eBay listing is currently at $510 and is literally an incomplete frame with the ad stating that it is the 'unfinished basis of replacement RC211V frame, all made in aluminium with CNC machined parts & high quality welding', the bidding is still under the reserve set by the user.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

MotoGP Teams Complete First Sepang Pre-Season Test

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

Preparations for the 2014 MotoGP Championship are well underway, with the first pre-season test at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit complete. As the first test of the year, we shouldn’t take too much stock into the results, but they do provide a basis for later comparison. Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez was the fastest rider on all three days of the Sepang test.
