I owned this motorcycle in California and rode it year round (explains the high mileage). I'm returning to CA, but will buy another moto when I get there to save on shipping. Don't let the mileage scare you, this bike has been meticulously maintained. If you want a reliable motorcycle, you buy a honda - ask anyone who knows motorcycles.

47200 miles

It has a small dent on the tank from when the prior owner went down at low speeds. A couple scratches here and there but it gives it a little character and takes the pressure off being too careful. I had it checked out for structural/alignment damage at a Honda dealer when I bought it at 6000 miles, and they said it was fine.

This is a unique naked bike. It was made in Italy. Because it was imported, it had a higher price than all of its competitors (2004 Suzuki SV650 and Yamaha FZ6). As a result, few US market 599's were sold. However, it was the best of the field. It is very popular in Europe where it is known as the Hornet.

The engine, as far as I know it, is the same as a carbureted CBR600F3 tuned for midrange. It is one of the last years for carburation and as a result has the well known immediate throttle response that 4 carburetors will give you. As I mentioned earlier, I just cleaned and synchronized the carbs and that is like a $500+ repair. As long as you keep Seafoam in the tank and start it every month or so, you won't have to do that pain-in-the-ass repair again.

It has never been beat on. I've been safely riding for 15+ years but I don't know how to do wheelies nor ever had a desire to do one.

This is a rare, well maintained motorcycle.

The seven-time F1 champion was joined by TT racer John McGuinness, retired MotoGP racer Randy Momola, Moto2 racer Pol Espargaro and Keith Flint, a musician from the group Prodigy and a racer in the U.K.’s  Hottrax Endurance Championship.
