1952 Harley Davidson CAPTAIN AMERICA.
OK not quite the iconic movie machine but it sure gets a lot of thumbs up going down the road. This bike looks great leading a Memorial Day, 4th of July or Veterans day parade. Stock panhead and 4 speed transmission, M74 linkert carb, mouse trap clutch and drum brake. 8750 miles since engine rebuild. To my knowledge---Original Harley wish bone frame, and Springer front end. (As old bike stories go, this bike was chopped in the late 60's or early 70's in California.The front fork is original with early Ford torsion bars welded on. Custom made exhaust and pan covers) A few upgrades, 12 volt electrical system, POWER ARC Electronic Ignition, and PRIMO primary belt drive There are a couple of chips in the paint on the fuel tank as you can see in the photos. Also a couple chips in the chrome on the custom built springer front end, (see photo). Overall a very clean bike for it's age Have an old school king/queen seat and other styles of handlebars and shotgun exhaust to go with the bike. Fri, 08 Jan 2010Born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would have been 75 years ago today if he was still alive today. As a tribute to “The King” of Rock and Roll, the Harley-Davidson Museum has created a special exhibit, expanding on the semi-permanent collection from Elvis that has been on display since the museum was opened in 2008. The bill of sale, insurance, and registration papers for the 1956 Harley-Davidson KH pictured above will be on display along with the motorcycle that was owned by Elvis and the Graceland Museum has loaned some rare photos for the occasion. Along with Cadillac’s, Elvis had a passion for motorcycles but especially loved his Hogs and rode Harley’s in many of his films, including Roustabout (1964), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Clambake (1967) and Stay Away Joe (1968).
Harley-Davidson Breakout Recall Caused by Fuel Tank Angle
Fri, 25 Apr 2014An official recall announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sheds some light on the cause of a recall campaign on 2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout and CVO Breakout models. We wrote about the recall last week, after campaigns were initiated in Canada and Australia to address a problem with the fuel sensors not properly reading the correct volume of fuel. We now know the problem is caused by the angle of the fuel tank.
