2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout Recalled for Faulty Fuel Indicators

Harley-Davidson is recalling 2013-2014 Breakout models, including CVO versions, because the fuel level indication system may not be properly reading the correct amounts of fuel. As of this publishing, recalls have been announced by government agencies in Australia and Canada; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet posted a recall but U.S.-based members of the Harley-DavidsonForums.com report American dealerships have already started receiving recall bulletins. According to a recall announcement by Transport Canada, some Breakout and CVO Breakout models may run out of fuel despite the fuel and range indicators indicating there is still enough fuel in the tank.

Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 2012 Results

Harley-Davidson reported a profit of $134.0 million dollars over the third quarter of 2012. That represents a 27% decrease from the net profit of $183.6 million reported over the same quarter of 2011, but the drop was an expected result from a planned decrease in third quarter shipments as Harley-Davidson adopts an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing system at its York, Pa., factory. Storm Tears Facade Off Colorado Harley-Davidson Dealership

A Harley-Davidson dealership in Pueblo, Colo., suffered some serious damage after heavy winds from a spring storm ripped off the wall of the dealership’s second floor. The 34,000 square-foot Outpost Harley-Davidson dealership on I-25 in Pueblo usually features a high front wall that sticks up above the building’s gable roof (see the “before” picture below). The damage occurred early in the morning and it’s not clear at this point if anyone was around when it happened.
