No, you didn’t read that headline wrong. Harley-Davidson will reveal its Street line of motorcycles to the US market at the X Games today with an ice racing exhibition. While exciting, the winter X Games have clearly been lacking one thing – motorcycles – and the Motor Company has joined with ESPN to bring ice racing to mainstream audiences. Harley-Davidson riders around the world will head out on the road June 23-24 for the 2013 Harley-Davidson World Ride. The event is organized by the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), but non-members are invited to join in to celebrate Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary as well as H.O.G.’s 30th anniversary. “Harley-Davidson is celebrating two big anniversaries this year, and the World Ride is a great way for riders around the world to celebrate them with us,” says Ken Knuteson, H.O.G.Wed, 10 Aug 2011 00:00:00 -0700
Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.
