Harley-Davidson Touring description

I have a 2007 flhx street glide with 54,442 miles on speedo that was an insurance buy back on 8/22/13. This bike was in the shop aug 2012 for a complete motor rebuild under extended factory warranty. The motor has 5,xxx miles on it now. In feb of 2013 the tranny was pulled and completely rebuilt under extended factory warranty. Tranny has 2,xxx miles on it. I have all paperwork for the extended warranty repairs as I work at the dealership that did the repairs. The bike was laid down on the right side. The front inner and outer fairing are scratched. The right fork tube cover has a dent. The front fender is scratched. The right saddlebag lid is cracked and does not close. The bottom of the right bag is scratched but not cracked. I have rode the bike around my neighborhood and feels solid. The frame does not look to be tweaked but I don't have a frame jig to check it. Both key fobs and keys and the Harley alarm pager are included in the sale. Bike has super trap slip ons. Please look at pictures. I'm not hear to rip someone off so please ask questions or if you want more pictures I will email whatever you would like.  I have a clean title in hand but haven't registered the bike so I am not sure if it will be salvaged. Insurance did pay the owner 15k for the bike and I bought it back from the insurance company. I bought this bike to fix and ride but now have bought a fltrx over the weekend so don't need this one. Will ship bike at buyers expense and buyer is responsible for setting up Shipping. Local bidders can come look at the bike. Require $500 down payment through PayPal at auction close. Payment to be made within 7 days of auction close through paypal or cashiers check or bike will be re listed and down payment will not be refunded. For questions please email. Questions will be answered within 24 hours.  Thank you and good luck bidding.

Harley Art

Mon, 16 Jan 2012

A new display in the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee is set to open at the end of this week exhibiting the artwork of the firm's styling chief Willie G Davidson. As well as being the grandson of the original 'Davidson' and in charge of all Harley's styling, it turns out that Willie G is a dab hand with a paintbrush. According to Harley-Davidson, the display will include “idyllic rural landscapes and still life watercolour paintings with strong luminosity and form that hint at time spent in the countryside during 48 years as the pacesetter in motorcycle design.” The firm's museum has also announced other special exhibits planned for later in the year, including “Journey of the Iron Elite: The Evolution of Motorcycle Culture through the Eyes of African-Americans” and “Born to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket” - a 4000-square-foot display dedicated purely to black biker jackets...

Louisiana Bill Updates Maximum Handlebar Height Legislation

Thu, 17 May 2012

Louisiana state lawmakers have approved a bill that would change the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. Current state law restricts handlebar height to no more than 15 inches above the seat, a somewhat arbitrary level, but a common choice with 17 other states. The House has voted 87-0 in favor of Senate Bill 582 to change the maximum height to the rider’s shoulder level, as measured while sitting on the seat.

Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson

Tue, 17 May 2011

Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says  Jeffrey I.
