Harley-Davidson Touring description

I've owned this bike for thirty years but have to sell it now for health reasons. It's about 85-90 percent original and would be easy to restore completely if that was your interest. I did a bunch of work on it a while back and then hurt my back and so it's been sitting for a few years. Has brand new Dunlop tires, new rimes with stainless steel spokes and nipples, new o-ring chain, and new light bar. Has quite a bit of extra chrome. Engine has an S&S carb, Andrews BH grind cam, dual spark plugs in each cylinder with dual coils and a Rivera ignition module/booster. I just went through it to make sure everything was in good shape after sitting. Pulled the tanks and cleaned them with muriatic acid to remove all the loose rust and varnish, installed a new petcock and disassembled the carb and cleaned it thoroughly. Pulled the clutch and cleaned the discs good so it works smoothly. Pulled both wheels and cleaned and adjusted the brakes and completely disassembled rear hydraulics and cleaned them and changed the oil and filter. It has a few minor issues: the timing hole plug threads are stripped and can be helicoiled, the spedometer doesn't work( I think it needs a drive gear), the trunk lock is missing, the rear of the front fender got bumped and pushed in a bit and cracked the paint, and the relector on the right side of the front fender is missing. This is a good running bike and is in great shape. Has a bit of wear and tear but overall is a great bike.

Off-Road Motorcycle and Free-Ride Bicycle Compared

Thu, 11 Dec 2008

What if anything do bicycles and motorcycles have in common? Besides the whole two-wheel thing, it isn’t outright apparent that these two “handle-barred beasts” share more than ancient ancestry. Modern Off-road motorcycle and Free-ride bicycle designs side-by-side illustrate how much technology the two have in common.

Harley-Davidson Discontinuing Road Glide and Other Models for 2014

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

A leaked memo sent out to Harley-Davidson dealers reveals plans to drop several models from the company’s 2014 lineup. Slated to disappear are the XR1200X Sportster, the FXS Softail Blackline, and the FLHTC Electra Glide Classic. Also being discontinued, at least for 2014, is the FLTRX Road Glide Custom and FLTRU Road Glide Ultra, as the tourer models undergo a design refresh.
