Harley-Davidson Sportster description

I am selling my 2011 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight. I am a private seller, clean/clear title in hand. The bike currently has 5,222 miles on the odometer (mileage may go up slightly as I ride the bike on nice days).

This bike has NEVER been dropped or laid down while in my possession. It has been well kept, and parked in a heated garage.

Modifications:
-Dynojet Power Vision, Black Series (Stage 1 tune for exhaust/AC)
-Vance & Hines Shortshots (secured with aircraft/racing nuts and new Screamin' Eagle exhaust port gaskets)
-Vance & Hines Quiet Baffles (stock VH baffles included as well)
-Black Bobber Hi-Flow Air Cleaner
-2014 HD Forty-Eight Gas Tank, Morocco Gold Pearl
-1.5" Tank Lift and Wire Tuck
-Ignition and Coil Relocation (new plugs and plug wires)
-RAM Motorcycle Mount (for tuner, only the ball remains on handlebar clamp, tuner easily removable)

Mod Notes: 
  • I purchased the quiet baffles for the exhaust due to the great reviews. They get rid of most of the popping from stock form, and aid in the loss of back pressure with short shots. The exhaust is still loud, but has a deeper/meaner sound to it (in my opinion). The original baffles are included as well and are easily swappable.

  • The Power Vision tuner is very handy and can be used to display multiple gauge setups while riding (gear position, RPM, speed, temp, etc, etc. . .). There are tons of factory signals you can choose to display, and low/high values you can set for alerts. There is also basic "Auto Tune" functionality that can be used to dial in maps/tunes even further by just riding. Everything is touch screen and done on the bike with the unit, no computer is needed.

  • I put together a RAM mount that utilizes a bolt on the top clamp of the handlebar. Works perfect for the tuner, and is easily removable with a simple twist (no tools needed) - so you don't have to leave the tuner on the bike when unattended. The ball is the only item seen when the tuner is removed and it is very discreet/low-profile.

  • The bike currently has an OEM Morocco Gold Pearl tank from a 2014 Forty-Eight, which took me awhile to track down. It has a vintage white look, and matches the Forty-Eights vivid black accents perfectly.

European-Spec 2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic Getting Twin-Cooled Engine

Earlier this week, Harley-Davidson revealed its 2014 lineup including the introduction of new precision cooling Twin-Cooled engines with both liquid- and air-cooling. For the U.S., customers can find the new Twin-Cooled engine technology on the Electra Glide Ultra Limited, CVO Limited and the Tri-Glide, but customers in Europe will also find a Twin-Cooled engine mounted on the Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Stolen Harley-Davidson Returned 17 Years Later [video]

Stolen from his apartment in West L.A. 17 years ago, Warren Huff, thought his Harley-Davidson was gone forever.  The bike was found in Valencia after a man brought the motorcycle in for inspection.  The bike was stock originally but Huff gets the customized Harley back as is. Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.
