Harley-Davidson Sportster description

2003 marked the 100th Anniversary of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. As part of the centennial celebration the MoCo issued a year of special anniversary edition motorcycles. The legendary Sportster 883 Hugger was one of them. In production since 1957, the 2003 Sportster featured some nice custom touches. This year would be the last year it would come with a frame mounted Evolution engine. This Sportster is a nice middleweight cruiser full of torque, spirited personality, with a low seat height and sound that's easy to love. This special bike only has 397 miles on it and has always been stored in a garage

AMA Honors Zero and Scot Harden with Bessie Stringfield Award

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The American Motorcyclist Association has bestowed a special recognition award to Zero Motorcycles and its Vice President of Marketing, Hall-of-Famer Scot Harden, for their work in attracting new riders and the positive impact they’ve delivered to mainstream media. Harden (pictured above from our recent Zero FX dirt riding review) and Zero were awarded the AMA Bessie Stringfield Award which recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in bringing emerging markets to motorcycling. The award is named after 2002 AMA Hall of Fame inductee Bessie Stringfield, the first African-American woman to ride solo across the United States and a civilian motorcycle dispatch rider for the army in World War II.

Harley-Davidson has been building motorcycles for a long time. Over 105 years in fact, according to the summer celebration I attended in Milwaukee last summer. Who could have guessed over a century ago that the company would be alive and thriving today?

Stolen from his apartment in West L.A. 17 years ago, Warren Huff, thought his Harley-Davidson was gone forever.  The bike was found in Valencia after a man brought the motorcycle in for inspection.  The bike was stock originally but Huff gets the customized Harley back as is. Hit the jump to see the news clip.
