I bought the bike a little over a year ago in stock condition. 2900 original miles. The old 57 paint was already done when I purchased it. It was one of the things I really loved about the bike. It's a head turner for sure. I believe the tank badges are original vintage HD. This is an excellent, dependable, bike.
I added a few things, took a few things off & rode about 4000 miles. Not one problem ever. From PCH, the canyons, the crest, & highway. It's a fun, easy bike to get around on. I'm selling because I recently bought 2 more bikes & I don't have the room for all of them. It's time to pass this on to someone else who can really enjoy. Mods: (All below have just about the 4k miles I've rode.) Harley-Davidson Adds Twin Cam 96 and 103 Engines to Factory Remanufacturing Program
Tue, 17 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson has added the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-2006 CVO Twin Cam 103 engines to its engine remanufacturing program. The program, which previously accepted 1984 and newer Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 powerplants, takes used engines, rebuilds and repaints them. Customers can take their existing Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a dealer which will remove the engine and send it back to the factory.
Q1 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results – Sales Down 14.7% from 2011
Wed, 01 May 2013U.S. motorcycle sales were down 14.7% over the first quarter compared to the same period last year, reports the Motorcycle Industry Council. The industry group, which collected data from 20 reporting manufacturers, says American consumers bought 93,375 motorcycles and scooters in the first three months of 2013, down from the 109,425 vehicles purchased in the same period of 2012.

Thu, 10 Jun 2010Canadian publication Cycle Canada had some fun on a photoshoot for its review of the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight for the July issue. As Pete wrote in our own review, the Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight has a rugged, bobber-inspired look with its chopped fender, chubby front tire and underslung mirrors. For the guys over at Cycle Canada, the Forty-Eight conjured up a rather odd image: roller derby.
